How does a 300k build months ago make it something worse than a 300k build now? Clearly 300k then was worth way more than 300k now, thus making your 'contemporary validity' premise nine syllables of wasted space.

Yea cits I seen that guys thread many times, the guy that builds chars and takes a cut of your budget. He does good work. I've watched his results closely. He does BUDGET BUILDS for the most part. We can make those monks for budget in the monk thread too (except the armor since STI got nerfed hardcore a long time ago, gg for backtracking and admitting those stats aren't current). However, the gearing advice we offer for the most part in that thread is for HIGH END MONKS that can do up to MP8 comfortably. Which is the same as Mr. My-Monk-Is-Totally-Worth-6.5-Billion-Gold, but for about 6.3b igg less.

The guy you are referencing has vouches from people with LoH monks that do MP3-4. They dont' have the DPS throughput or EHP to do higher MP lvls. That's when it starts to get expensive and thats when monks come to the monk thread for gear advice - the game starts to change.
