Hey, i just came across a very nice Three Hundredth Spear, and want to try to do a throw barb.  I'm wondering what pieces of my current gear i should upgrade first.

both rings
gloves
belt

you should change this, rest looks ok ( get rings with str / vita / @ res / cc / cd ( the more adds the better ), reduce fury cost of weapon throw on belt, & gloves with xx str xx@ res x % cc xx % cd [ vita | attack speed as add ])

would stacking attack speed with stuff like andys, lacuni, innas pants, rings, ammys, work?

obv the more attack speed the better, but survability should be more important, if you can gather both, then it's awesome ^^

you should also consider Echoing Fury, stats like 9xx-1.2k dps 150+ str socket, insane attack speed

I know Esajoram is using Inna pants aswell :)

attack speed on gloves / rings / amu is nice aswell if you can afford obviously^^

i've been switching between helm of command / shield and andys helm / three hundredth spear a lot recently.

I'm heavily leaning towards using the andys helm / three hundredth spear build. Survivability is not as good (-1800 armor, -10k life, -25% block) but killing speed from faster nados / 50% higher weapon throw damage not to mention 12% faster move speed is pretty insane.

with throw its nice that you no longer have to get into so many situations where you need block (except throwermonsters and res is still needed) and then you can boost dmg a lot :)

andys wouldnt be my first choice but if enough res i guess why not

Is 3% LS enough for a throw barb? Because ive been gearing for a ww barb and im struggling with the survivability on some champ packs, maybe i should change to a throw barb.
I do like the play style of the throw barb :)
Nice barb btw, those weapons and that belt are beast

depends on dps but with ~100k +- dps 3% is totally fine (with insane dps like 200k i guess u could do without any)
throw barbs style doesnt put in much risk as you dont have to chase or get close to any elemental attacking monsters so I think the requirement for leech could be even lower than of ww/nado of equal gear

Nice guide, I would like to try this, but my barb is my alt, and very limited funds for gearing.

I'm wondering if you think with the crowd control changes coming that Weapon throw rune Stupefy will become the main choice? I can see it being a bit slower for trash mobs but the confuse should make elites a joke. Or is ricochet just to vital for the crits/fury gain?

I think in this patch already the heroes are so strong that these charm effects etc are not really worth it anymore :)

also the biggest offensive of this build is the ancient spear loop it makes insane dmg, the weapon throw is kinda used to clean out anything left + make fury along with tornados

as we've seen in 1.05 developer news:
War Cry - Impunity: Bonus resistance reduced from 50% to 20%.

Also incoming damage will be lowered for ~25%

Time seems to be right for all throwers using this guide to lose the last defensive skill warcry
I recommend instead:Overpower - Killing Spree (rune gives 10% CC for 6 seconds)

Thrower/nado barb requires prolly least amount of defensive properties from all builds out there and I'm actually running this build effectively already in 1.04 patch

Ps. If it seems impossible, take ignore pain instead

E: It's kinda funny but right now all skills and passives of this build are offense, I kinda like it
E: Also now throwerbarb has 4 weapons at disposal (tornados, overpower from close range, ancient spear and weapon throw)
E: Very nice combo is to throw ancient spear that pulls enemies close and right after hit overpower and together it makes a massive hit

EE: Also there's alternative way to use Overpower as fury generator with rune "Momentum" (12 fury per enemy hit) and Change Battle Cry - In to the Fray --> Maraudes Rage (30% dmg bonus)
