I kind of want to pick your brain, what do you consider the biggest thing that gets your dps that high? i've always kind of assumed once you get decent crit (~40%) that a huge part of paper dps comes from crit dmg. do you find that to be true? I mean since I have a limited budget I find myself looking for bi-fecta stuff that's just asi and c%...cuz I always considered api to be better than cdmg. Then there's how important dex is, if it's worth dropping 3% crit for like 100 dex etc etc...

I'm wondering the same atm, now that I'm missing "only"
Echoing Fury (1036 dps 164% critical, 160 dex)
Natalya's ring (20-44 dmg, 89 dex, 8 ias, 4%cc, socket)
Vile Wards (252 dex)

500 Lower dexterity currently, but getting almost that from those 3 missing items, depends on what kind of Natalya's ring i'm going to find from 1.0.5
11% Lower Critical Chance (Natalya's ring)
165% Lower Critical Damage (Offhand)

I have almost 130k lower dps (95k now), currently some 999dps fist in offhand, just random statted, same mainhand as before.

What would you guys prefer post-patch for your Monk (using my numbers)?

Damage Reduced increased from 58.33% to 63.88% (+5.55% increased)

or

Dodge Chance increased from 40% to 46% (+6% increased)


Basically the same, but I just don't know if it's better to dodge entire damage 6%~ of the time or reduce entire damage by 6%.

in an even number decision go for damage reduction, simply because you cant dodge CC damage like molten or poison...

Hey i am at work so battle net and diablo progress are both blocked....but i was wondering if anyone could check out my stuff and suggest any upgrades....I think my abilities are a bit fuqed right now because i was screwing around last time i played, the gear i am wearing should be my "DPS" stuff...

I know that optimally, i would like to get more res, but i basically got that skorn and then went nuts trying to max my DPS so i went from 100+ res down to whatever it is now (like 500 i think)...I still have a set of gear that gives me like 800 Res and 75K DPS....

Speaking of pick up radius ..... I had 0 about 2 weeks ago and it was annoying (walking up to gold / health globes)
Then I went nuts and got:
Vale Ward with 5 pur
Andy Visage with 7 pur
Blackthorne belt with 6 pur

Sweet .... fighting elites and some bosses are fun. I can pick up health globes from a mile away.

It was just for testing.
Bought VW for 25M and sold for 42M
Bought AV for 2 M and sold for 12M
Keeping belt.

Its nice to have at least one item with pur.

Now need to shop for better weapon with the extra gold I made.

i fking suck.... i had 0 pick up radius on my monk forever..... it's annoying but never really paid attention to it...

i should get some for sure with some upgrades that i'll be making.

some occasions, im like I NEED THAT HEALTH GLOBE I NEED THAT RIGHT NOW and can't get to it because its surrounded by 2 stacked elites... LOL

PUR isnt important unless you have no LoH/LS and you absolutely depend on health globes. its a wasted stat place and isnt worth the extra gold




i bought 40 m worth when they were ~2.5 mil per perfect star, hopefully prices continue to go up this weekend
