I've tried using Skorn for fun. It was way slow for my taste.

And you don't have to use shenlongs and won kim to be great. Those are extremely overpriced and shitty ones are cheap and those are shitty.

But definitely go dual wield. Much better set up for Monks.

Yeah, I'm always confused with this calculation. I used to just thought +str = +armor, so I tried to find the items with str stats as +armor aren't that available.

The best way to go about this is a.) get ilvl 63 for as many slots as you can since they have base higher armor (this will go a long way), and get +armor mods. yes, str=armor but you see much lower rolls for +str so it's not something to *shop* for, just a bonus if you happen to have some str lying around. And we had a very informative discussion about 10 pages back about armor vs resistance, that you may want to check out as well.

Res does not count for armor, so you probably were just having +int, and +res on different pieces when you were upgrading. The thing about armor is that it scales better than res because we have +% armor modifiers and we have no such res modifier, so it scales slightly better due to that. The diminishing returns are about the same as res though, which is why people try to keep armor and res to a 10:1 ratio (1k armor per 100 res, etc). If you have a lot less of one, say 400 res and 6k armor, 100 res is going to do a lot more for you than 1k armor, and the opposite holds true as well.

Okay. What's your aps? 1.54? LOL That's very slow.

You need to stack as much crit chance as possible to boost your dps using the Skorn. Don't get the crit dmg on the jewelrys as you get plenty from the Skorn itself. Your dmg

And if you REALLY want to keep the Skorn set up for the next patch, you should spend zillions of gold to upgrade your Skorn with LIFESTEAL. Because without it, it'll be pretty damn hard for you to play in the higher mp lvl games.

What's your reasoning behind getting the entire Blackthorn's set on a Monk? The set bonuses aren't even attractive other than the 2 set piece bonus. And the Blackthorn pieces that you have on are pretty low rolled ones too. It looks fancy but decent rares should give you much more stats.

But in the end, it's your monk. If you like your set up, go for it.

Got it. I'll go back and read them a little more. I'm going to try to bring up my armor and res to 7k and 700 respectively while upping my dmg a little bit more to 110k dmg. Thanks man.

Looks good, whats you're @res at?

I'd say upgrade left ring, bracer (super low dex), and look for higher dps weaps with very similar stats on them if you can afford it. Will put you up to 75k easy if you get good shit for those slots.

Consider getting a 900+dps EF for your offhand instead of the axe, too. That axe is great, but really low dps and the +aps is really gg for monks imo. And if you get around 900dps you wont feel the loss of that native crit dmg either, unless you can afford a socketed cdmg one but those are asssspesnive. Keep crid dmg or socket and lifesteal at least if you do get an EF.

Vile ward or rare with @res on it woudl be a great upgrade too but huge price tag on either of those, lol. Cuz those shoulders have gg high stats...

I would kill for those stats :P haha. After my recent dps upgrade I took it in the ass on my res. My armor is still at 6.5k but my res sucks now. ugh

haha yeah, when i changed out my fat rare pants for the inna's, my res went to shit. But I did tweaked my gear set up to make it work. Now at 90k dmg/6k armor/616 all res. I think getting a decent Vile Ward and couple other armor pieces should put me on my target numbers!

now.. back to AH to snipe a Vile Ward. lol

There are okay ones for like 10mil these days in AH.

EF = Echoing Fury

It's a GG mainhand for any monks out there. It's just awesome.

EF is Echoing Fury mace .... it has + .2x attack speed ... that applies to both weapon.

It is very expensive now for ones with good rolls (crit dmg & LS or os & LS)

Got mine a few weeks back ... 996 dps with cd & LS for 6M .... can easily sell for triple that now.
