On a non frog build
3 pieces w/ pickup is nice, but 2 is adequate. Don't let your defensive stats suffer by trying to get a ton of pickup radius. Also if you're using a bats build (which you should be! or at least a bears/bats hybrid build), most creatures are dying pretty close to you so you don't need more than 10-14 pickup radius.
