Any suggestions what to upgrade next? I'm guessing helm and bracers? Got lucky last night had the vile wards drop off a goblin in A3 :D . Also should I be going for attack speed or crit damage as a monk?

nn call me names. Innas 2pc set bonus is terrible, saying that doesn't make me an ass. If 90 mil qualifies as a "budget" then count me in. I personally have never had more than 30m in the bank and I've had to stretch every penny to get my monk where he is right now. I worked my ass off crunching numbers, switching gear around, and trying different builds to get the most out of what I can afford. So forgive me for pointing out someone who isn't exactly being frugal or effective in their spending, O mighty judge.

Of course I understand the concept of buying "the best" straight away so you don't have to waste resources on incremental upgrades. Would I have done that with Inna's chest? Hell no. I feel, as do some others, that's a huge waste of 60m. I thought there was room for opinions in this thread. I'll think better next time I speak up.

This.

No, just wrong. In what world is 130 bonus dex terrible? Especially on 2 pieces (pants/chest) which are competitive with anything else you could shove in there?

Is it expensive or could you better spend that gold elsewhere if you're starting out? Possibly.

Is it terrible? Far from it. It's the highest dps combo for those 2 slots.

I also think you're misunderstanding the use of the word budget there. 90mil was his budget, as in the amount he had to spend.

In the world of opportunity cost.

When you have terrible gear, you gain a LOT MORE vs gold spent by upgrading the worst pieces. Using your logic, I could have an innas chest with 87 dex on it, and spend 50m gold on a new one iwth 88 dex on it and call it gold well spent. No, it's not, when you have bracers with 16 dex on them and for 10m you can get 4% more crit, 100 all res, 3k health, etc etc etc....

I appreciate, in theory, the idea of buying BiS gear asap to avoid incremental upgrades. I already said that. I'm talking about that guy and his monk. Now stop taking my comment out of context and trying to bash me for it, please.

And I would really rather think you could get a much better rare chest and get your second piece of Inna's on a different slot (belt + pants anyone?)...but hey, what do I know? Apparently everyone and their mother should be using Innas chest as soon as they can spend all their gold on it, no matter what their other gear looks like.

Jin, I'll take your quoting someone saying I'm not an ass as an apology. Thanks <3

when your at the point where your next upgrade is something like innas, most your other gear is going to cost just about the same if not more to upgrade.

though if your trying to skip all that and just jump to innas, personally i think its a great idea as your not spending 10 mil each on 2 other chest armors, pants, belts, helms before you decide to spend 50+ mil on innas.

You just get more from the fury if you have a slower weapon, and all D3 skills go off weapon damage so you want a high weapon damage weapon (Which usually means a slow one, mace, spear, axe).

I totally agree...I don't think he was at that point though...He said so himself.

Hey man, it's not drama (except the dude calling me an ass). All I said was I don't think Inna's chest is a very effective use of a shitload of gold, especially if you've got lots of other things that need BIG upgrades. I don't understand why I'm not allowed to have an opinion, get called names, and bashed repeatedly for being thoughtful about how I spend gold...

this is what the additional edit was for.

i spent about 30 mil on chest armor before i sniped a phy res innas for 22kk

over 50 mil on helms, before i bought out a phy res 5% innas for 30kk,

your going to need good armor and a good helm at some point. theres no need to spend millions on small stepping stones when you can spend a fraction more for a large stepping stone, especially when as time passes the value of those small stepping stones drops every day.

I know.

Like I said, "I appreciate, in theory, the idea of buying BiS gear asap to avoid incremental upgrades."

And

"Of course I understand the concept of buying "the best" straight away so you don't have to waste resources on incremental upgrades. Would I have done that with Inna's chest? Hell no."

What you are missing is my entire point that upgrading 40 dex 40 vit bracers to 120 dex 120 vit 4 crit 100 dual res bracers for a quarter of the cost of an Innas chest is a WAY LARGER stepping stone and more cost effective. Yes, I know Inna's 2pc is top tier shit. No, I don't think the chest is good. The pants are good, the helm is good. Anyways, that's just me.
