If there is one big franchise that I’d want from the PC gaming market, it would definately be Diablo. Sure we have games like Torchlight which try to fill the void. But nothing can truly replace Diablo…no matter how much I do love Torchlight.
At Gamescon today Josh Mosqueira, the lead designer for Diablo 3, all but confirmed that Blizzard has something in the works for a console version of Diablo. He stated that Blizzard “is very, very serious about bringing the Diablo 3 experience to the console.”
To me, this all but confirms it. Blizzard is definately going to try to make this a reality.
Josh Mosqueria also went on to talk about Blizzard hiring a team dedicated to only a console action-rpg (hmm…wonder what that could be?). He stated:
“Today, we’re trying to build the best console team at Blizzard. We’re looking for programmers, designers, artists who think their dream job would be to bring Diablo to the console. Trust me, it is a dream job.
“All I can say is it’s going to be awesome. Stay tuned.”
Well trust me, we are all staying tuned. The console users want Diablo, both PS3 & Xbox 360 user. But if you’re going to do it, do it right. Which I’m sure Blizzard will have no problems interpertating Diablo from the PC controls to the console controllers.
Here’s hoping!
