it has to be a mixture of all of those to be honest. although i'm not big on pvp. But the storyline has to be amazing, the music has to emerge you in the game and make you become your character. the gameplay has to be fantastic of course.. who doesnt love great battles ? and a nice storyline for all the hardcore diablo fans would not go amiss :)

I voted for: The storyline/quests(the longer the better?)

The storyline is secondary, but the quests matter a great deal to me. I want a ton of lengthy optional quests, so that I still have something to do after completing the game. If you don't have any quests to do, then PvM is pretty much limited to grinding (MFing/levelling), which is boring. With quests to do, it takes your mind off the fact that you're grinding, and breaks the monotony (so in other words, you can level up and MF, and still have fun, rather than running the same monsters/bosses over and again). Of course, you'll always have PvP too, but I personally like both PvP and PvM, and I'd like to sink a lot of time into PvM before jumping into PvP.

With the quests, monsters, bosses, characters, combat, and so on, in place, the story is just an added bonus IMO, but a pretty big bonus at that, as I believe it can make a good game into a great game.

For me it's that drive for more that comes from mass monster rape, and the lust for phat loot.

The Cinematics are what originally caught my attention in D2, remember the first time you saw the Jail scene with Marius? That shit was fucking epic. They were such an intimate part of the story, and were like cookies for completing one act.
