the aps is 2.73X, so you need 2.74 to be sure. yes, on the getting less aps and more damage. if you ever upgrade your gloves, then go for 7asi, but get more cd/cc for example. that extra .5 aps is just screen dmg since you're not actually casting more.

What items are needed

the main changes are usually the weapon and source. depending on where you get your asi you might switch to inna's pants and a crafted bracer instead of blackthorns and lacunis. you'll end up with a LS weapon instead of LoH items.

what kind of source?
triumitive?
what are good rolls? 6% elements?

yes, black weapon and then trium is the best dps source. high avg dam and as close to triple 6% as possible.

fast weapon?
or or a 1.4 1.2 with high avg dam

i'm pretty sure there are breakpoints/proc rates for archon, but i'm also pretty sure it doesn't matter as much as a cm's breakpoint. i'm not seeing anything definitive via google. attack speed scales with archon, but i can't imagine 1.4 versus 1.2 will make any noticeable difference. i will say that you won't always be in archon and having a 1.4 will be more beneficial for procing your way back into archon. also, the additional attack speed will help your melee attack while in archon.


A few things to consider..

Most importantly! Switch your frost nova rune to deep freeze. This will be your biggest improvement with your whole build/gear. Try using blur or evocation instead of glass cannon. Try using storm armor w/ shocking aspect or using pinpoint barrier rune instead of force if you decide to go with blur. Losing armor and arcane power aren't usually the best options for cm wizards although it's not as big of a deal when you have better gear. If you find yourself being too squishy, then stick with those defensive skills if needed.

I personally prefer 30apoc, so getting a chantodo force with 9-10 apoc will show a noticeable difference in perma-freezing. you'll find yourself perma-freezing isolated monsters much more frequently. you'll also get knocked back much less.

As for attack speed, you won't get 3.01 w/ a storm crow unless your chantodo's will has 10 base attack speed. to simulate 3 aps just pay attention to when you hit a frenzy shrine. That extra breakpoint isn't that much more amazing, so just stick with 2.74. You currently have .6 aps too much (2 attack speed). You're not actually casting faster, so you could get less attack speed from something and try to get more cc/cd instead.

Most people recommend 800+ LoH. I personally have 800+ and I use blood magic rune. I never die to reflect elites with this setup. You should consider getting an amulet with 7 attack speed minimum and switching pants to blackthorns.. or get an amy/ring with LoH. Blackthorns would be a good option for helping with your life. You could easily get 200+ more vit with this setup.

Lastly, spending 60m to upgrade your rad emerald to a marq would add 5.3k dps.
