Runs duration: #1 - 7:02, #2 - 6:05, #3 - 7:58;
Elites run #1: 7 packs, average kill time: 34s, min: 17s, max: 52s
Elites run #2: 7 packs, average kill time: 20s min: 11s, max: 25s
Elites run #3: 10 (with 1 gob), average kill time: 23s, min: 10s, max: 39s
Average kill time per elite/gob in all 3 runs: 26s
notes: 1st run, there was one double pack, and 70m+ hp extra health boss
Average kill time - duration of each elite fight, not duration of run divided by amount of elites

Tried to frap 100 times after i wrote a guide and now my d3 crashes...

I got a a few runs in the sub 6m range but most were in the 6-7's.

Elite average from the little fraps i got was about 24 seconds not counting gobs (they only take a few seconds since freeze merc so i didnt consider it)

Also were you just doing this for fun, or for ess/hour?
I figured it was probably just for fun, but we managed about 45 essence/hour using a cm wiz to tele while we banner drop cooldowns and leave game/re-enter.

Just a fun run you might wanna try if you got a cm wiz on hand.

For fun, wanted to test and compare to other classes, which ran similar tests. It obviously isn't efficient, since you get low count of elites per hour vs chance for essence at mp10. You can easily double the amount elites on mp5, where chance is 24% for essence, vs 39% on mp10, which already favors mp5.
For me fastest is tr/wol monk, nothing can beat one or two shotting mp5 elites with bell, and turbo sprinting + skipping trash with tempest rush. I don't think there is currently faster build that monk for this. For sure it is more relaxing to play than cm wiz, you hold 1 button to move, and 1 click elites to kill them, big aoe, no spam needed.

I was getting something around 45ish with monk too though. It is kind of random, sometimes collecting data for hour, can differ, if you have unlucky streak.

Yep, we managed to get our best results in mp8 than mp10 since life scales too hard after that, esp with 2 people.


I plan on making a TR monk to hunt essence for though since they patch pumped them up nicely.

Just looking for some comments on my wd from other wd looking for comments on how to optimize dps/ehp and if anyone has any other mp10 builds let me know. Main reason I wanna check on this is because I feel there could be more damage to be dealt using a lower mana cost spell with pierce the veil but I'm not entirely sure

No matter who or where I ask, no one seems to be able to give me a solid build for higher level MP farming and just messing around. As someone whos new to WDs, and has no knowledge concerning them, im finding it really hard to figure out what to buy and what skills to put. Can anyone help or is there no actual build for a witch doctor yet?

I see the sacrifice dog build, but im trying to get away from boring CM wizards and that looks identical.

bears are a good hi-mp build , you have 2 views on the WD , you have the slow mace/spear 80+ mana reg build < in this case you doent have to use spiders/r mana passives |||| Also the ias and ull have to throw spiders and using faster weps/ showing higher sheet dps / but the slow/higfher base weps will do the same dps even though your paper dps is lower , qs is do you want to spam 10 cycles of bears then have to throw spiders, r spam 20 cycles and use no spiders/mana passives , and have open dps skill/and open passive, here is the slow effective mp 10 build
