Ill do that. I guess those upgrades will increase the effective dps even though im getting rid of bear reduction on mojo and mana regen on the helm?

Thanks guys!! WDs are fking fun to play! Love how I can change out a lot of skills and still be viable.

the slower the wep spear/mace , the less paper dps you need to show ,do to higher avg dmg/and slow aps

No no dont get rid of bear reduction on off hand, that is the biggest dps increase piece on wd's, along with soj.

Blood rit + Gruesome + spiritual + spirit walk with mana rune + -20 bears in gear with 28+ mana regen (you can supplement max mana in place on off hand but its a bit different play style since you rely on globes), will result in enough bears to kill any elite before any mana problems arise.

eg  and crit the same with 1.4 over all aps@ 150 k dps  /vs  some  :bonk:  with 230 dps with 1.75 aps


Yes i have tested a 1100 dmg mace and a 1250 dmg sword (both with same stats otherwise) and near identical results even though dps was lower with mace, mana was easier to sustain (but not by much)

The sword did outperform 1.2 in the end for me, but that may be different for others.

Ah I see. I got it. I'll report back when I shop some stuff.

I should get a better soj huh? I found that soj so just had it on.

so you saying youi wasted 110 ccd and ruby'd a sword to keep up with hier avg dmg slow wep ... so you doent have to spend a shit ton on - bears on items,hmmmm

I tested both of them, and ruby in wep gives me more constant crits (usually always 1m+ when buffed), as well as much better low mp farming when i feel the need, and a more constant heal.

The ruby adds even more dmg that gets amp'd by soj, zuni boots, and a tals amulet if you have one.

1.4 aps, so ruby gets amplified even more-so.

I can kill any mp10 elite pack before any mana problems in under 15 seconds, while standing against a wall and face tanking everything.

I'm only saying that a slightly higher aps helps me with heal/dmg/and overall performance period when it comes to multiple things, so thats what i went with after much testing.

And i do have -bear items, including -10 soj and -12 offhand, which when added to blood rit gives me enough mana to take out any elite pack in mp10 including extra health before any mana problems arise, but i mentioned that already didnt I XD.

I'm having trouble with game play mechanics. So I get that I'm supposed to use acid rain for "white" mobs and bears for "elites" and then by using my soul harvest and passive skills my DPS can grow high and my mana troubles are limited and I can do high amounts of quick DPS. I never have mana problems and that's great, however, I die way to easy even on MP1. Like all of a sudden I'm overwhelmed by monsters and I'm dead, my 2.xx life steal isn't enough nor is my high life regen and I find myself dying on mp1 too much.

So i switched away from using horrify or big bad voodo in favor of some type of slow/root in grasp of the dead.

Like considering I never have mana issues, have good resists, 50K health and 100k dps unbuffed - I should be able to beat MP1 easily and for some reason I'm just not getting the hang of the witch doctor. I've watched the video of the "speed doctor" thread and I try to play like that, yet, for some reason, I just can't make it work.

Can anyone give me some advice please thanks. I'm used to playing a DH and I think Gloom has spoiled me and being able to crowd control my monsters with traps.

I'm bad at this game ha.

Your char looks more or less fine. I'm guessing you die too easily due to low damage, which turns into low leech. Try a slower, harder hitting weapon (if possible).
Skillwise:
-if you want to use Grasp, use Unbreakable grasp on elites
-for low Mps, change Soul harvest to Vengeful
-since you dont have mana problems and die too easily, change Spiritual to Spirit vessel.
