^^^^ this

I am long energy sector and i don't touch the rmah. /end trade discussion

theres alot of stuff you can do to make money with out the rmah.

one thing i like to do is look for people who put 10 mil items out for 20 mil with a 100k opening bid. then bidd 5 mil and wait, if the items only worth 10 mil its not likely some one is going to buy it out for 20 mil so i only have to worry about people out bidding me. if no one out bids me at most ive spent 5 mil on this item that i can seel quickly at 9 mil buy out and make 2-3 mil.

you can also watch the comoddities, essances can fluctuate from 500 gold to 1500+ gold, pick your self up 4000 essenaces for 500 gold wait a week and sell them for 1500, after fees thats 3.4 mil profit

TD Ameritrade for their Think or Swim trading platform  (best analysis tool in the business)  and Options Express for the low commissions on bulk option trades.  Of course there is a point trading them together.  I have 3 active trade systems going at the same time.  Half the trades are Vix index and Vix futures, and the other half are a combination of long and short positions in XIV, VXX, VXZ, and TVIX, depending on a combination of Contango, EMA / SMA, SPX HV / IV, and VIX Standard deviation signals.  Nobody on a gaming forum gives a fuck what people do for a living, so none of this matters to anybody.  I'm not trying to sound cool or prove anything to anybody.  I simply found it funny that somebody actually tried to compare the Diablo AH with real world markets.

As was said before.  This is not high end monk discussion, so we should stop now  :)

Yeah, guess we should, but you shouldn't start flaming people for saying that the market is similiar to equity market. It is just like every other market. Your using TA as a tool for your trading, you could, in theory if enough information was given, use it for D3 AH too. Also flaming people for not knowing how the "real market" works and saying that everyone here is jerk just because you work as a daytrader yourself makes you sound stupid. I trade as a hobby too, mostly DAX CFD and EUR/USD based on shortterm PA, using tick charts to see PA more accurately. And yes, your right, there is point trading those instruments together, not just top of each other.. unless your hedging... =)

Anyways, to return to the Monk discussion, what was your original question here even? I came just to work and just saw this fighting going on about the diablo 3 market.

Wow, you're an asshole.

I enjoy playing the game, not moving money pixels around until my head hurts. It has nothing to do with being brain dead. I'm not concerned with "making gold in this game," I'm concerned with playing it. I think you missed a few variables.

I think you missed a few variables if you've played that much and have been unable to gear your monk for act 3. And yes, I know all about monk gear. I use the auction house, and have the internet.

the point was, diablo 3 requires 0 skill.

i commented that it takes skill to work the ah and it takes skill to play a char and not die (arcane, desacrator, frozen, ect).

he retorted that im a high school kid thats going to park cars for a living.

Thank you, I've been eyeing shields and thinking about getting one, might as well.

After taking a bit more carefull look on your monk, I noticed that you don't have any pickup radius on gear. Health globes are big boost and mobs drop them usually while you fight, but you're often too far. Try to find one piece with pickup radius. Also, if I were you, id upgrade the necklare to give you LoH, Crit, Dex and poison ress/all ress, that would give you alot more survivability also. You can make that monk ready for A3 with spending like 1m. =)

Welp, maybe we both missed a few variables then. Of course, I've also been more busy than years over the last 4 months, and I'm playing several classes other than my monk, and don't have a lot of time to dedicate to it - and what time I do have I prefer to spend playing the game rather than the AH. As I said originally, when I saw how easy it was to play A3+ WITHOUT gear, I switched to other classes. Anyways, you'll probably continue to try to assert your superiority over me, so I'll just leave it at that.

I don't think I can find a LoH, crit, dex, dual res amulet for 1m. But if you see one, let me know... lol. Sounds more like a 5m+ neck to me...and a lot more if it's got decent LoH. My neck does kind of suck though, just had really low vit for a while so I needed it around.

No, not dual ress, but I for example bought 112dex, 300loh, 43fire ress, 6% crit amult for 450k for my monk. Of course it requires some time to find one for cheap, but it is worth it. Most of the people are looking for necks with both crit and crit dmg. You really have many pieces that could give more stats with very cheap investments, you just need to know what to search for. =)

Yeah that's pretty much the jist of it. I feel that anybody who says Diablo 3 takes skill is borderline retarded. It probably means they don't have any actual skills, so they think a point and click video game qualifies.

As I said, it's about as similar as a bicycle and a Lambo. Yes they share a few common traits, but no more so than wheels and a seat.

PS: Any moron can make big money in the markets. The true science of it is the hedging, so of course I use multiple layered products for the purpose of hedging, that's the point of quant trading with options. If somebody wanted to make money, they could have just gone balls out no hedging long the XIV after last October's Fed announcement. That trade is up 160% in the last 9 months. Brainless, but effective. But it's not hedged, so the sharpe ratio of that system will be horrendous, and returns will be given back.

Also, I never said everyone here is a jerk, and I never flamed people for not knowing how markets work. How could they, when even most bankers don't even know how the markets work. I simply said 1 person here made an idiotic comparison, and I said the markets are NOT similar to Diablo.
