D3 was made as a console game and that's why it is made a certain way. If it had been a PC only game it would more than likely been amazing. They took the money, and who wouldn't? Hopefully we get some good content soon, hopefully.

Good game.

After all that how can you say good game

Good to see the same years old arguments being repeated.
People who still defend the game should be playing iit while those who have quit should be posting.

Absolutely everything you just said is completely wrong.

This forum is the end game for people who stopped playing or have become enlightened to the many faults Diablo 3 has.

I personally think the worst part of the game is the itemization. Loot is of utmost importance when playing a Hack n Slash game, boring loot = boring game,

The diablo 3 devs failed TREMENDOUSLY at this point. They couldn't have made items worse in this game. They're so bland and boring - the only fix they can provide is to increase the numbers.

They make legendary fall from the sky so much that they're basically rares from Diablo 2. Rare's/magical have ZERO chance to be useful in diablo 3. No rune word type system to make socket able items worth while.

I would argue that Diablo 3's approach to loot is the number 1 failure. The loot system is utterly pathetic.

Yeah a lot of people were, but I wouldn't say it's poop.

Diablo 2 is a completely different game. Brevik even said in an interview that if they wanted to make Diablo 2 up to par with today's PC's, it would be extremely difficult because of how they coded the game to older computers. There's no way they could have made any newer games the same as Diablo 2, unless they really wanted to put in the expensive efforts to do so. Which is why they decided on another take on the game.

Diablo 3 is very different to what we were expecting, but I wouldn't say it's a total disaster. I still play it daily and I like where they went with it. Sure, it has it's issues, but I love the Diablo franchise in it's entirety and I can't wait to see where they go with it. Whether it be a 4th or another expansion.

/e And I am also a hardcore fan. Played D1 and D2 starting around 2000

Just to clarify: Brevik was specifically talking about the re-mastered version when he mentioned that. The D3 team had more than adequate funds for a true Diablo 2 successor, it's just their development team had different philosophies (really unparalleled) to the original D2 team. Can you blame them? Sort of, on one hand you have an entirely different development team, and on the other, there are some core aRPG values that D3 still does not have (economy/trading/pvp/etc). So they are not completely innocent, but some of these things unfortunately were the downfall and why that longevity doesn't exist like it does in D2.

With that said, Brevik did say he's not ruling it out to re-join Blizzard to get behind Diablo 4. Of which I am hoping he does, but he's busy with his indie game It Lurks Below. And still a manager for the Chinese POE version AFAIK.

Also, I've been playing D2 since I can remember too! I think we're all just extremely disappointed. D3's combat and fluidity is hands down the best I've ever seen though (that's coming from an avid Path of Exile player!). I want that same feeling in D4.

I actually agree with Chetwynd's "poop" point. I wouldn't say the game is "shit" or "poop", just different.

I have a friend on discord who is a WoW fanatic, and always just wants to hop on D3 to play it for short bursts of fun. He always, and ALWAYS quits Path of Exile after every other league, after like 1-2 days. I've been trying to get him to play since 2013. D3 does have a current niche in the aRPG genre, it is well polished. Just needs more end-game stuff, economy, improved itemization, trading, and PvP arena (that was shown in trailers).

If they add some of those, it would stomp over Path of Exile easily. Why have they not? To keep Path of Exile in business still? I have no idea tbh.
