After WoW came out, D2 had little to no support. We were promised Ladder Resets like every 6 months but didn't get one until 2-3 years after the last. Plenty of blatant RMT/Blizzard Exec. scandals from behind the scenes and other various stuff made D2 horribly managed...

Bots and RMT also made it much better and the trading as a whole that was done as a community free market.

Look at Njag. He made a bot and when he decided to quit, he turned his bot's support site into a trading site, eventually crossing multiple platforms, and he made up his own currency for which he gets free money every time someone buys some.


Blizzard didn't touch the game, and it was ran by the community essentially, and lived well. Was plenty of issues and problems and bugs and exploits, but it still lived.


It's a game you could have fun with grinding, or a game you can get to L94 and geared within the same day, able to go out and compete and fight.


D2's PvP system is garbage, and the grind isn't even fun due to several limitations, lack of a trade system, and generally no need to work or put effort into almost anything, you can just put in time to get max geared for no real purpose.



Oh congrats, that boss you killed in 53 seconds, you can now kill 51. That 2 seconds will totally help shave off mad hours as you relentlessly kill it over and over again.

nowadays the game is worth playing once in a while, the first 1-2 weeks definetely. it used to be the coolest game in the world when there was the Auction House, but now is just a random game.
