You can do the exact same thing in Diablo 2 pool together on equipment you only need a conviction pala with hammers+Java+light sorc+bo Barb+oak wind dudu+summon necro an you could probably do it naked.

Obviously there is ways on d3 cubing, blood shards getting particular builds to carry the party but at a guess I would say roughly paragon 900-1100 is equivalent to 99 on Diablo 2 imo

lets say you can 99 in 20 days manually on d2. on a ladder reset
on d3 you could probably get paragon 1350+
