very nice man, glad to see there are people who know how to make a good monk

tired of people looking down on me because they have 50% higher unbuffed dps xD

there was one build I was using back in the day which I think still works

you basically use crippling wave with concussion + resolve, these stack and reduce the damage of anything you hit by 40% + slower attack speed from crippling, pretty much nullifies anything you can get near allowing a lot of freedom in the rest of the build

works really well with cyclone strike+sweeping+wave but you do need to take the higher damage skills as your main attack is a bit underwhelming on its own

Here are two of my favourite monk skill that not many people use, I always take at least one of these on my builds

Dashing Strike+Flying Side Kick:
The movement speed from this is insane, allowing you to zip across the screen to anything you can attack for low spirit (25)
It's even better in combat as it allows you to instantly reposition and stops enemies being able to body block you
The 60% stun chance is great for bosses and harder mobs, it also puts you behind the enemy your attacking which is great for dodging lots of stuff
Not to mention it is very fun flash stepping between enemies rather than running

Lashing Kick+ Scorpion Sting
The rune stops this knocking back enemies which I find annoying and instead stuns them in their place
This is a great all round skills doing good damage and stuns in aoe for low spirit (30)
Especially useful for melee elite packs and if using cyclone strike (actually just as good vs ranged as you can stop them running around or keep them in pack when they finally get in position)

How come all the EFs you mentioned are crits and none of them are LL/socket?

You should also mention which passive in every build we can replace for OWE without breaking the build.

2 issues ive found with builds that use blazing fists to make up for the loss of EF attack speed, is you have to keep Blazing fists up, and when you click some where with blazing fists you have to re click again with fot to lock on the name.

vs a goblin its incredibly difficult to hit it charging up blazing fists, then fot/tc all while making sure that blazing fists stay up and you keep the gob tracked with your cursor and clikced on at all times.

of course theres allways the option just to use fot/tc and not worry about blazing fists, but you lose massive amounts of dps because your not telleing on them as fast, and your just not doing as much dmg when you do tele on them since you dont ahve blazing fists up.

the second issue i find with this is what happens when im not paying atention. i use shift attack very often with fot/tc because its faster just to cycle though the attacks back to the first one and tele instead of running after untill the combo timer runs out and resets back to the first one and tele. the issue with this is what happens when i have blazing fists up, im fot/tcing, and i go to refresh blazing fists with out ever lifting off of fot/tc. so my cursor is still over the monster, im still fot/tcing, im still making cyclones, and i look away at the tv for a second. When i look back ive found the monster i was attacking has moved but because i didnt reclick on on him after refreshing blazing fists, i was not locked on him and now ive been standing in the middle of no where for 1-3 seconds shift attacking mid air while every one else is still working on the e.

but thats just my opinion.

so in a situation where im half asleep, watching a movie, or talking to some one about something else in vent (distracted), id much rather use the basic fot/tc echoing fury build over a non ef build requiring you to keep blazing fists up.

Practice more. Blazing fists is very easy to use and massively useful.

if its 100% attention to the game, blazing fists is great, if not, more often then not im standing around attacking the air due to any and all distractions.

@Ylem

I had the same problem with blazing fists when I had it on the keyboard.
Now, I have it on my right mouse click.

I Fot-tele to monster, quick right tap, then back to FoT seems to be workng better.
When I encounter a big trash mob, I just goto town tapping both FoT / WotHF.
For some reason, I noticed alot more cyclones.

With elites, I hold down FoT and tap WotHF ... works 90% of the time.
If BF doesn't activiate, I'll lift my left click for a split sec and it does the trick.

With Azmodan, its a different story.
If I am right in front of him, holding FoT and right click will activiate BF.
If I am slight off to one side, I will move around as soon as I right click ... very annoying.

Just need to get use to play style.

I have it on right click allready

my issue is more so, as i all ready said, I hold down FoT and tap WotHF. every time i tap wohf i have to let off of fot/tc and then reclick on the specific monster i want to go after again, this becomes annoying vs gobs and also illusonists.

the other part of this is that, as i allready said, I hold down FoT and tap WotHF, but dont let off and then reclick with fot/tc on the monster.

because im shift attacking and nothing has moved, i continue to hold down shift+FoT and tap WotHF and continue attacking, but if im not paying atention and the monster moves, im standing there shift attacking air.

as well this constant having to put all this efoort into paying attention is quite draining, and i can barely do a vault/kw run before i need to take a 30 mins break, where as with the other setup i can do several runs all while half asleep.

with ef/what ever and something like crip wave instead of blazing or even fortitude instead of blazin, im not relying on the blazing fists for the atack speed any more i can just shift click fot/tc look awy look back look away look back look away look back, all while spamming mantra and still attacking the same e.

Ylem,

That sounds more like your personal problem to be honest. Don't know what to say to that.

-------------------

I forgot couple more builds. I'll add those as well as some revision/mandatory stats&passive skill.

Maybe I'll quote and update the original post once a week with different font color to articulate the list. :)
