Valor/mf just impact the rarity of an item. When an item drops, regardless of rarity, it has a 2% chance of being ilvl 63 in a1, 4% chance in a2, 8% chance in a3/4.

so i just did this on my barb with a few changes that worked real well. This is really for barbs as i was using sprint the whole time.

start quest cursed hold
crypts: usually 3-4 packs. I do 1 elite pack per crypt and leave. sometimes there is that elite outside.
fields before crypts: 2-3 packs. sprint makes this worth it
cath lvl 3: 1 pack
festering woods: 2 packs + 1 in each instance
northern highlands: check for tower
leorics manor: backtrack. sometimes 1 inside, always 1 outside
then warden/butcher run. very good with sprint.

great part is all the mobs that stay trained on you adds to your revenge dps when you hit that elite pack.
very successful

After ~15 minutes of Act 1 farming. Why can't I hold all of these crappy rares?!

where are you pulling these numbers from?? 2% *1.75%???

a1 is definitely most efficient for farming rares, and a decent amount of ilvl60-62 even.. but i've went like 3 runs without a single ilvl63

So.. watch tower level 2. All of the mobs inside of it have spawned double spawns (2 elites per mob). This thing is crazy! Duno if its a bugged game, but its hillarious and awesome loot.

did like 10 runs, all items wre vendor food :/ But atleast im smashing elite's faces!

Seems like over half of the packs I come across have Damage Reflect... Found a few ilvl 63s so far. One ilvl 58(?) legendary wizard hat. Nothing good.

Ah man, why are you posting this. I have been laughing since the patch at all these people farming Act 3/4. Why the fuck would you? Except if you happened to simply like Act 2/3/4 more or something, then that's a valid reason.

But for anyone simply wanting to get the maximum possibly chance of finding all the best items in the game, CLEARLY Act 1 is the best place to farm. Anyone who doesn't know that should probably go back and study their grade 3 math...


Here's a hint:

What's 2 x 2 x 3 ?

Is that number bigger then 8? If so, farm Act 1


Is 3 million a smaller number then 30 million? If so, farm Act 1

I always restart if no tower, but not sure if that's ideal.

In festering I usually walk around until I get 2/3 roaming elites and get both dungeons.

In cemetery, I use a fairly complex ruleset. If I find an elite right at the entrance, I kill it and leave crypt. If not, I keep going until I find two elites. If i know I'm not in the "right crypt" I keep going until the end because of all the event rares.
