Pretty much this, if you think barb is bad, it's because you have bad gear. Barbs will probably quickly become the most popular to play once 1.0.3 and items become more accessible. Revenge does good AoE damage, with no resource costs, and heals you for a ton. War Cry with impunity gives you a huge sustainability boost, and the barb also has good defensive/offensive options past that (Ignore Pain, Frenzy, WotB though its fallen out of favor unless you have enough damage dealing to kill rare packs within the 15 seconds you use it, etc...)

With 20 mil invested in gear. monk is just as effective with way cheaper gear. Blind, 7 sisded kick, heal etc.

Do you have any proof to this statement or...? Cause I beat act 2 inferno with a barb, and only spent like 5mil on my barb at that point, and he had about 900-1000 all res, 8k dps, 9k armor, 800 vit. Are you saying that a monk can get better stats than that with cheaper gear?

keep buying chests while i afk through a4. i know the difference between monks and barbs
ive seen kripparians barb, ive played with krip

monks hit a effectiveness cap very early on, while barbs have HUGE steroids in every stat.
