I have this same problem w/ a quad core (shows 0 through 7) and by my limited understanding there are 4 real and 4 "virtual" cores, so when you "disable down to 2 cores" do you disable to 2 real cores or what combo of cores: 0&1, 0&2, 1&2, 1&3 ?

Not that tech savvy, which is why I'm asking. I have been experimenting with various combinations but it would help if I had a definitive answer, ty

I guess an easier question to ask would be, which cores are the hyperthreaded cores? 0, 2, 4, 6 or 1, 3, 5, 7 ?

/e basically you are disabling hyperthreading w/o going into the BIOS settings, just not sure which cores are which

Try running that (I exported the zip to desktop, then ran via cmd prompt, otherwise the window closes) my i7 quad core has 0123 hyperthreaded, meaning 4567 are HT cores, so setting to 0&1 wouldbe the answer

Also if you do not want to click the link and d/l a .zip program then just try setting the affinity for diablo III.exe to 0 & 1 processors and see if that improves performance. I know ppl are nervous about clicking links/downloading progs with all this account hacking going on
