i have tested many wizards in my days also over 1000 hours on em.
i have the solution to your problem. if you find that you have quite the bit of HP and res but find that you still die due to 3200-3500 armor, drop the energy armor - prismatic and put on the ice armor - crystallize.
this is the current skill i use and i archon mp10 without deaths. once in maybe 5 runs i will die. i have 4300 hp and 650-750 all res.
in regards to reflect damage, if you do not have 5.5 or more lifesteal (bloodmagic rune included) then you are just going to have to play smarter on reflect mobs. when the spikes show up you must wait.
the #1 wizard in america has a vid of himself waiting on reflect dmg mobs just cuz he knows he will kill himself. so unfortunately the answer to reflect damage mobs cannot be overwhelmed with high res/armor + hp.
