Ok guys let get this straight.
If you QQ about paying 10$-15$ a month to pay to play for a game, I think your living in like 1995 first of all.
The reason im saying this is, I dont want Diablo 3 to end up like Diablo 2. I.E, scammmers, bots, cheat, hacks, dupes, spam, non english speakin people who are geting paid 1$ a week in a sweatshop because we want that bad ass item.
This was mentioned by someone else, but, just because you have to pay, it does not mean nor does it guarantee any less bots/cheats/hacks/dupes/spammers. And does it matter if tis well spoken English or not? oO

Ill go into detail. When a company stops selling there game in mass amounts, they no longer are making decent $$ to support that game, whatever it may be. So charging a small amount every month gives them ability to support it, and solve the problems such as cheaters, viruses, hacks, gold farmers wtf ever...... AND ADD NEW CONTENT, AND FIX THE OLD OFC

Lets make an rough estimate; Say the game itself costs $40 too $50 (for sake of easier math, $45). Lets say at least an amount of 10million Blizzard fans (probably more if you look at how amazing the game looks thus far), that is already an amount of $450'000'00 (450 million). Now lets look at all the extra money Blizzard makes on World of Warcraft alone every month. ~~ Their monthly fee times 15million or so (can't recall, and many, many got more than one account).
Now my question to you is; Do you honestly think they lack, or will ever lack the small amount of money to ensure a proper working anti-cheat/bot/hacker mechanics and update content?
Also keep in mind that the mechanics they have now are far different from D2, reason it haven't been changed; they would have to redo every single core code for the entire game. Basically re-write the game.
You talk as if you know how a Fortune 500+ company works, yet it is quite obvious you don't, nor did you do any research at all.
Conclussion; No, making it a monthly fee cost will not ensure those points you brought up. They can and most likely will do that with their current mechanics, if you look at WoW and SC2 you can see the difference compared to the D2 mechanics to deal with it.

I personally also wouldnt want the guild wars approach either,...... coming out with an expansion every time someone cries so they can support there non paying game.
You can't compare NCSOFT with Blizzard. So not even gonna bother responding to that one.

If Diablo 3 is not pay to play, I give it a few months before it turns into the shit hole that d2 did.
Again, different time, new technology. Making it a pay-to-play will just make them lose a lot of customers, and if you calculate, the earn they get in a few months is about the same if not less than making it non-pay-to-play and just increase the purchase cost.
D2 a shit hole? How come there's still so many people playing it, after so many many years? Your comment doesn't make sense.
Sure, there's bots and dupers that lessens the fun of the game, but there's still a lot of real players, and so many people you can meet and play with.
~~ I'm not saying I want an exact replica of D2, but making it pay-to-play will not ensure anything of what you've said. Blizzards mechanics in there games these days will. Not to mention all of their eula's will put so botters/spammers in a dead-lock right away.
