im rolling a shield monk
with these stats
22.5k dps
1.94 as
1640dex
33k life
920 res

i just soloed act 3 inferno without problems tbh, can kill any elite mob, sometimes if 2 of em come at me can be a bit tricky

but seems a bit sluggish, takes a bit to take down 2milhp+, maybe like 1-2 min for each elite mob

is it better to run dual wield crit? i mean it seems semi-easy rolling with my shield lol, but i'd love to get more dps, maybe i'll have to get more dex, since my weapon is already around 980dps

this is my monk. my crits go up to 150k with buffs. i can melt every act 3 elites pretty fast.

you should definitely lose the shield and go dual wield. i once was a shield monk, but DW is the way to go with Monks. especially now that mobs have been nerfed by a lot.

heres mine. you're already at 1.94 as even with shield so thats pretty good, but if you dw you can sacrifice ias on items for more crit. the game is so easy now that i think anything more than ~650-700 res is overkill/luxury

i have a lot of gear i can def replace, just waiting for prices to drop

Anyone trying the new 2h? It is now cheap to get a 2h that deals same dps as dw.
Tried a 2h mace tha i loot off an elite last nite, it shows a slight dps increasing over my dw (farming act 3 capable).

IT IS HELL SLOW! I am cyclone monk and I proc a bunch of cylcone fast with dw. That 2hander simply cannot proc that much cyclone, not to mention low spirit regen. Perhaps a build that does not rely on cyclone cld benefit from the 2h

the only way is to get a high dps daibo with as gears

other 2handers are just way too slow.

maybe we can use those new spirit spender skills to maximize the dmg output, but how the hell do you supposed to generate spirit to do this?

Daibo is 1.1 aps , others are 1. It is still bad , not worst tho.

Perhaps atk spd affix on a 2h is a must for monk..will try it again tonite and search AH for a faster atk 2h.

Well it looks like I got first movers advantage on the Won Khim Lau claw. I bought mine yesterday. 785 DPS, 6% / 22% Lightning, with a socket. I got a buyout of 400,000$. Just 1 day later, it seems the same claw will cost upwards of 5 million. I guess after I tested it and realized how good it was as an off hand claw, I should have bought several of them. Yesterday there were socketed ones up to 850 damage for less than 1 million. Today, the cheapest 800+ with a socket is 7.5 million. Man I could have made a killing...
