Ive hit a brick wall with ghom, I just can't get past the guy.

Just wondered what i can change or what needs a desperate upgrade so i can progress to the end of act 3 and then farm it effectivly

For Ghom, use Deadly Reach as your primary. Kite him little by little.

Don't think you need to change any gears for him.

with 44 mil. You could spend all that on one nasty weapon or go 2x 20 mil weapons. but dual weld is the way to go for big dps boost.

change to conviction mantra with 48% dam rune.

change passive to resolve if you wanna stay shield+ sword, or go guardian path if you go dual weld.

get rid of craptic ally and use deadly reach with foresight or keen eye for armor buff (i prefer dps buf since i like to have more dps haha). So you have 2x attacks. FoT for main/speedy hits. Deadly reach for kiting purpose. You could drop deadly reach when you get massive dps and put blindin flash with dps buff rune, but for now, stick wit Deadly reach for kite ability.

drop some vitatlity for more dex. your dex is crap low. You must dodge like never lol. aim for 1.5k - 1.7kish dex (2k when you become rich, but at 44 mil budget, most of it is gonna be spent if not all on 1-2 weapons dependin on which route you wanna stay.)

your res is fine at like 800- 900 ish without all res mantra.
get more crit chance and crit dam items (specifically the bulk of your crit dam will come from your weapons. Weapons must have sockets so you can stuff another gem in it and or if you use LOH from it).
Ex: 2x 8xx dps weap, 600 loh, socket (put 80% - 100% crit gem in). Gettin 150+ dex with base crit on it too on each is gonna get into luxury. So you see how 44 mil isnt really alot to upgrade to big time rock star status haha.

my suggestion is get 2x 8xx dps weaps with 600ish loh + empty socket and then throw 2x 80% or higher crit gems in with that 44mil budget. Then use left over to try get more crit chance items on gear (though will be hard to maintain that all res you have while totally re-gearin the entire char cause you need to get more dex on all those gear slots.). you wanna get at least 1k loh, more the better. 2k would be very safe haha.
Your armor is very low for a shield monk, so you need to address that too. If you have weak dps, you need more armor. 70k and up unbuffed dps u can get by with lower armor cause u kill shit too fast.

I'm running full MF monk myself at the moment, have 242MF unbuffed, 259with enchantress so reaching 330+ with 5nephalems. I know a new weapon would benefit me most at the moment, but I'm not going to spend any money on weapons before 1.04 because the weapon prices are going to sink.

Therefore I'm asking what would benefit me the most at the moment. I need alot more DPS and a little more All resistance, but what would give me most dps? Decent cc+crit dmg/ias gloves with only single ress and MF? or maybe instead go for good rings? Neck is out of question at the moment, unless someone can get me a better neck for less than 15mil.

I have also been trying to find new pants/chest but that seems like impossible project. Specially the chest seems to be very difficult to find.

If anyone got any decent fr monk items with MF pm me! If anyone has any better ideas how I should gear please share! atm I can do a2 with one hand. In a3 swift skull cleavers and phasebeasts are most of the time impossible. I've been running alot of a3 with my baba friend though.

Maybe your "scorched prize" ring. For a short term fix, I think adding more increased attack speed will help your build. With 900 LOH on your weapon, IAS will benefit both defense and offense. However, IAS builds hit a wall eventually, and that's when crit chance/damage comes into play.

I sympathize with you because we have almost the exact same build. FR/MF monk gear is impossible to find. I've been scouring the AH everyday and I think a proper piece pops up twice a week and an end-game piece comes up once every 2 weeks :/ It's weird though, because I feel there's a really fine line between being able to do an act and not. I was getting mauled last week in Act 3, but I finally found some pants. Now, I can manage Act 3 minus the phasebeasts. Anyway, here's my build:
