my current stats are

26k dps with breath of heaven
1.5k loh
900 all resists
5.7k armor
1.85 aps
37k life

i want more life for sure, but i was thinking about going for like 2k life on hit with 2.5+ aps while maintining 800 all resists and shooting for about 35k dps with breath of heaven (or more). I just cant afford items with both crit chance and damage on them so im trying to find a way to make it work without =)

and i know my stats are ok for act 3 and i have cleared it but it seems like it takes painfully long and i do die sometimes (arcane +vortex for example)

Your stats look good. Just try to up your dps while maintaining your other stats. You don't need more LOH or life honestly. Just need more dps to burn the mobs down faster.

I've got a lot of reading to do, about to hit 60 with my monk, but I rarely play him so his gear is garbage.

would 5.5% life steal work well with 50k unbuffed dps?

i intend for my mainhand to be my offhand once i can find and buy a new mainhand i like. other than that i know i need better jewelry (plan on getting ias/crit on them without losing too much resists) besides that im open to any suggestions =) ive been slowly upgrading what i can with the measly few million i get each week from farming so i dont have much of a budget, just upgrading 1 thing at a time as i can

I think it's like 550 life each 50k hit.

If you crit something like 100k per hit, it's 1100 life.

This is all considering that 80% nerf in Inferno.

So yeah, for high DPS monks, it's better to just get Life steal since it seems like Lifesteal is cheaper than LOH in terms of weapon pricing.

And what's really good about lifesteal is that it scales with your damage. If your damage goes up, you steal back more life. Whereas LOH is just certain life per hit regardless of how much damage you do.

there is a perfect upgrade for my current weapon on ah that ends in a few hours, cant even bid on it for some reason.

You definitely need to upgrade weapons and jewelries. If you are going to use cyclone, you need crit chances to be +25% to be really effective.

And if you shop around AH, the weapons are pretty cheap these days. You should pick a mainhand weapon something like +900 dps / dex + vital / open socket for emerald. And use your current mainhand as your offhand as you said.

If your surviviability in Act 3 isn't too much of a problem, you should run mantra of conviction with overawe rune. Kill things much faster. 48% faster to be exact. haha

I think im going to go with ~1300 loh and 5% life leech. I think when the patch hits and i get my damage up some that will be really nice
