Haven't gotten a horrid set of affixes yet. Frozen isn't my concern. Its jailed / wall with those set of affixes.

I'm going to do multiple runs through Cydea (not doing Azmo yet) so I'll see what happens. I'm guessing Azmo is going to be a big resounding no unless I can mitigate more effectively.

Alright I need some help planning upgrades and how to up my damage without lowering my survivability as I'm at a good place for Act 2 to farm with Overawe, although I may need a bit more for Act 3-currently need to run Evasion/Armor for Act 3.

Gear is at the link. I would like to get to Act 3 farming, although I know I'm still quite a ways out. All advice is appreciated.

for start: boots/ shield / leg is ok for start

your ar (all res) +hp is fine

helm: wrong stacking res, nice vit, low dex, no ccm try to get a 6xdex/6x vita/ 4 chc+ /double res one with socket,

weapon :either get a 800/900 dps one with base crit + some extra stat vita or 100+ dex + free sock, or get a loh weapon with crit damage/open socket

rings: get 2 new rings with dex/cc/chd/ vita+cr i, depends on your cash

gloves: one on the first prio should be upgrade this:

your attack speed is slow/bad even for 1h/shield, depends on rest of your upgraded as/cc/180dex/double res or same with cc/chd

bracer: dex, 4+chc, double res, u can play with numbers here, if vita is low, get high vita, 6x dex one, if not (u got 35-40k hp) then high dex, double res, 4 chc+

This was all done this morning so I'm not sure what isnt matching up for you. I think I had the enchantress out, so I had the armor bonus and attack speed bonuses which might create the disparities you're seeing.

i bit too late total forgot about base stats: 50% base crit dam +5% base crit, my bad

The thing I'm curious is how much should I be looking to spend on each piece. I really can't seem to get a grasp on the economy(I think this is my greatest failing in Diablo so far). I really appreciate the information on what to get on each piece.

You're on the right track but you got a ways to go to do act2/3 comfortably.
You actually are at a decent level of armor/DPS for act1/2... i would start focusing on Resistances (shoot for 600-700 by the time you finish act2) and crit chance (aim for 20-30%).
Then you can go back and get more HP, armor, dex, raw dps.

In terms of specific gear upgrades to look for, drop that shield ASAP in favor of a Sacred Shield.
They have the best inherent dmg reduction, find one along the same parameter stats as your current one, with one exception, do NOT get any with less than 20% block... UNLESS your going for an offensive shield with 10% crit chance.
You can also get crit chance from helm, gloves, bracers, neck and ring... Fyi crit chance is a priority before crit dmg unlike other classes. It fuels one of our best skills, Sweeping Winds/Cyclone.

Your weakest pieces to focus on first in my opinion would be Helm, Belt, Bracers, then boots & shield.
In that order, concentrate on Dex/Vita with All resist + Fire Resist (looks like your predominant res stack), and crit chance on the pieces that can have it (block or crit on the shield depending if u get lucky with both or want to be a bit more tanky or more dps'y).

Yeah I just picked up an amulet and bracers with Crit Chance, DPs went up about 3.2k Res @ 440

sweet, well looks like you know some aspects you need to upgrade already, depending on your budget it might be slow going, but KNOWING where you need to improve will make it smooth.
