the same question regarding passive skill  Guiding Light - using it I also see the same value in stats view (used in combination with Breath of Heaven should increase my dps for 31% [15%+16%])

Cause it's like conviction from d2 they take more damage not necessarily you dealing more damage

So here are the ALMOST final stats of my monk!



I am still looking to upgrade bracers, helm and belt, rest is pretty much as it should be

what you guys say?

how many of you have high life reg on your monks?
well, I am trying to change several pieces of gears to get like 1000 life reg.
I already changed three pieces and two more to go(amulet and ring). so far, I lost about 15k life and gained 655 life reg, 48 res all,about 2k dps and 11% movement speed. there is some armor/dodge change but almost neglectable.
and I am trying to get an amulet which can bring like 6k life more, more res and 300 life reg with a lil decreased dps.
however, the ring is a hard one. may need more time to find a proper one.
what i can expect is like: 77k-80k life, 1000 res all, 1000 life reg, 30-32k dps, 850 loh
I will post the old/new stats after i got the ammy

I used to have 2400 life regen and it was pretty good, just had low damage then (30k shield), but my monk was under heavy development back then. Now I have 1000 regen and 1000 life on hit and this seems pretty much the best solution. Hitting 58k dps with shield and 82k dualwielding. Resistances are 940 with shield and 820 when dualwielding. Dualwielding makes the runs about half faster than shield setup, but with shield the playing is much more chillout based. 44k hitpoints with shield and 39k when dual wielding.

Damage, hitpoints and resistances are unbuffed stats, except that it seems i have enchanter with those stats.

All looks very good I must say - for that last bit of "end-game-ness" I'd say you're lacking maybe ~400 dex and about 150% crit dmg. Well there your monk will be truly enjoyable. You should still have a fairly easy time finding reasonable priced upgrades.

So i was goofing around in Act3 Inferno the other day, ran into my favorite champ mob... a four pack of those arm guys that create plague-like pools at range?
Yay, that with Jailer, Desecrate, Arcane, Mortor... DEAR GOD!!! They hit hard at range, and hit hard in melee, all the while constantly locking me down into either one of their massive hitting moves.

Just before bridge area, i can handle massive packs of mobs, and every champ type thrown at me, but this one was INSANE.
Run away? Dead. Melee range? Dead. Melee + Kite? Dead. Mid-range with Deadly Reach? Dead. ROFL!! needless to say im a stubborn prick and after many deaths (full durability down to red) i finally killed em, hahaha.
I'm not horribly geared either... 800+ res, 7k armor, 31k DPS, 1400 LoH, 41k HP, 20% CC/150% CD... lol good times.

Anywhoo, tahts my monk story for the day. :)

^ not really. If you are relying solely on LoH as your heal, it will definitely not be enough.
However, if you have near 1000 life regen, or a couple hundred life per spirit spent, or much higher dps + life steal, then its fine... combo-wise.

If it is your only heal source, then very much no. Minimum 1000 LoH if it is your only heal source. :)
Yes it would cost a few more millions to upgrade, but frankly Monks are very gear dependent... an expensive class since we also share main stat with DHs.
