Which is better in this case: 28% Lightning dmg OR 5.5% crit + 2x% life (socket). It's in hardcore so keep that in mind. Feels like I'm sacrificing too much health for more ele dmg. I've got 64% ele dmg without the 28% helm.

I've got a fulminator, wkl, and Odyn's. Which 2 should I use? and wow I dont know why but blizz gave me luck in the wkl department, i've had 3 drop for me!

If you think you can absolutely survive without that 2X% life (socket), go for the dmg.

If not, go for toughness.

Finished lvling up my 2nd monk last night.

Just put on all the random useable stuff I had for now. Most of the gears have not been rerolled yet. haha

Still not sure if I want to make a lightning monk or fire monk yet.

And this is the build that I used for my main CDR monk.

Solo and Party T3 Rift runs are very smooth and efficient. I seem very useless in action though. LOL

Using TR to roam around and when BF+SSS is resets, I go in CS->BF->SSS. Gets out.

When I have the Epiphany ready, pop it, roam around the mobs or elites. Don't even have to get too close to them since TR gets out the fire ninjas.

Whenever BF+SSS is ready to go, teleport CS -> BF -> SSS. TR out. bahahahha


I'm going to farm for Royal ring and SOJ ring.

It's a bit higher tier build for CDR. Much harder to play. Less mobility, but it should work much better in +T4 games. EP is just a required skill for high T monks in my opinion.

I think I will use something like this when I get other gears that I need.

Is it just me or is damage done to xxx (demons, beasts, etc) % really powerful?

I recently found myself 3 piece Inna's + royal ring, and am trying to justify wearing them for four piece, but I am having a really hard time doing so.

This is my monk, without any pieces of Inna's equipped. I am doing Torment III Azmodan as an "effective dps test." With my current gear equipped in profile, to give you an idea that you're looking at the right setup it contains 132% lightning damage, Odyn's Son, WKL and Tyreal's, I am looking at consistently killing Azmodan in 20 seconds +/- 2ish. I am doing this with my skills in profile, and the damage seems quite insane.

When I try to put on Inna's 3 piece (something not to forget is instead of active mantra I gain dashing strike, mantra of healing and the dodge mantra for survivability, as well as the base overawe for damage, which is fairly useful!) my kill time drops to 44 seconds +/- 3ish. I know I am losing a lot of lightning damage, and losing the demon%, and losing the 10% IAS from Retribution rune. To correct for these and try to figure out what was causing the biggest hit I did a number of tests with different gear on, the first piece I swapped was the chest piece. I put Inna's on over Tyreal's and killed Azmodan to take into account for the demon % secondary. To my surprise I killed him in 41 seconds +/- 2ish. This was with keeping the Lightning damage gear slots (helm/belt) as well as the attack speed rune equipped. How can 19% damage to demons really cause this much of a difference?

To see exactly what was happening here I did another test and left Tyreal's equipped but put on Inna's helm/belt to effectively lose the lightning% damage while keeping the same stats. To my surprise again, I was consistently killing at around 23 seconds +/- 2ish. I did similar tests with skills to see if the difference was losing the 10% IAS on the Retribution rune, but got similar results. It all points toward losing the demon % damage.

What I don't understand, is how 19% damage to demons can literally have more of an effect than losing/gaining 35% lightning damage and/or the quad-mantra effect. While wearing Inna's does seem to increase survivability by a bit, I just don't know if I can sit well with losing the effective DPS Tyreal's seems to bring.

Edit: Maybe it's applying differently? Applying before the skill damage multiplier? So it's getting 19% increase "paper damage" -> almost 7x multiplier from LTK?

+% to demon worked really good when I was into doing Ghom killing time back in original D3. It made HUGE difference in time. That I know for a fact, but RoS stuff is still too new for me.

I'm sure Druin knows it. Already msged him to drop by later.

I think it's applying the damage perhaps like weapon damage % can greatly increase a weapons damage. your 2200 wep basically turns into a 2600dmg weapon for both hands making your effective damage skyrocket like going from a 1800dmg wep to 2000 gm weapons
