Mmm Mad1Lee, show me some of the arguments for stormcrow>mempo for regular cmwizzes at 2.74+ aps? (No argument that if you're running <2.74 aps, stormcrow can > mempo). Also, stormcrow is the more cost-effective option, no argument there either

I've tested extensively the upgrades I could/can make to my cmwiz ever since I built one and at no point was stormcrow even comparable. Stormcrow has LOH and APOC - so? Mempo is still BiS b/c of IAS simply b/c the loss of stats in this slot are a lot less than the pants or bracer slot, for example. You can get LOH/APOC on other pieces, whereas IAS is not easy to make up for. It is also true that with a sufficiently good black dagger (of which none exist on AH), stormcrow could be better than mempo. As things stand now though, esp with some new revelations in regards to the change in APOC in 1.07 and the nerf to rd packs (~400ish LOH is now sufficient), I would have to say that stormcrow's aren't worth it.

Also, I just remembered something else - the fireball from stormcrow costs an attack turn, leading to a less effective freeze.

Wow, that's a clueless statement. On the contrary, it's much easier to get ias elsewhere and only slot you can get 400 loh besides bt pants is jewelry which is really hard - in fact much harder than getting 70 all res we are missing without mempo. Apoc is really unbeatable here, getting 20 apoc from chantodo's set is not easy, and 20 might not be enough in few case like low cc, fighting single or duo targets and finally using the most powerful version of shock-nado-shards build - sns + meteor. Mempo got much more ehp, but we can get it elsewhere, unlike apoc or hard to get loh. Also, damage wise mempo is the same or worse in cases when you use meteor build or fight single targets, because storm crow got +4% to elite bonus.

Dunno about fireball from stormcrow, never noticed it interrupts any attack animations.

Hi guys can give me some advices to upgrade my CM Wizard Gear? my battle tag is Akuma#2202 and i have +/- 250kk for the upgrades...
I dont know if it is better to change to Zunimassa boots, ring and Inna's or going to Blackthorne Amulet and then Mempo or try StormCrow with an amulet 9% IAS

With the actual Gear i can easly farm MP8 but i would like to do solo ubers mp10 or atleast doing it with some help

Per your advice, I decided to bite the bullet and spent 110m for a +0.25 aps chants with a socket and the perfect 10 apoc at 1047 paper dps.

I actually lost character paper DPS on this, but the value of this item will appreciate over time, and it is what I will need when I swap over to cm/ww. The only thing to improve on it is more int or more DPS, but this not as important to me as the other stats. Agree?

Also, regarding chant's will, I saw that the random roll being a socket was obviously better, price wise, than choosing native crit damage, especially since I already had the RS emerald.

But, I got confused when trying to choose between getting one with a socket and one with 10% ias roll.

Eventually, I decided that I could probably make up the 10% ias needed to hit the 2.73 or the 3.01 BPs on other equipment more easily than I could make up the 100% crit damage. Can someone verify me on this? Have you cm/ww wizs hit against this question before?

Because of my eventual decision to get the chant's will with the correct end-game rolls (dis-regarding paper dps somewhat), I decided to go ahead and pair that up with end-game rolls chant's force.

I "broke the bank" by spending the rest of my gold (360m), but I got chant's force with:

the perfect 9 ias,
the perfect 15 arcane power,
the perfect 10 crit chance,
the perfect 10 apoc,

and to your point in your post above about meteor being the current SNS top skill build, I spent that extra last gold on making sure the skill roll was the meteor one.

I made sure before I spent the gold that the DPS and int I was getting wasn't completely crappy, and the avg damage on the one I got is at 200, and yours is at 207 I think, so I am OK I guess. Oh, and my 181 int is a low roll but good enough, right?

Let me know what you think, Mad1Lee. Maybe too pricey, but I don't think I will need to switch it out for a long time, and value will stay high, right?

I think perfect stats are good but paying 360 millions for 200 average damage is a little too much, in my opinion. Maybe you could get extra 7k dps for that price, but perfect apoc and cc are very good. Meteor reduction is not important as long as you use storm crow. I never run out of ap and I just spam diamond shards/blasts/novas and meteors like there is no tomorrow. I might do a video of that build if I learn how do it :).
