On high MP disc maintenance for xbow users that lack +max disc on gear:

either get one with life steal and suffer a loss in dps or do as i do:

nightstalker - chance on 1 disc per crit
perfectionist - -10% on casting disc spells

preparation - focussed mind - this rune on preparation artificially gives you 15 more disc, doesn't seem much, but as the cooldown passes, you gain disc by keep shooting AND from disc over time

this is especially helpfull when you fight in tight corners like in keep depths, where some mobs have 3x damage affix: molten, plagued, arcane, frozen, mortar where they controll the floor with themselves and their AoE dmg stuff flying around

it's then sometimes not enough to perma-shadowpower and you might need to create distance by e.g. vaulting to the next room(s), nice bonus affix is when they wall you so you either die or vault through all that crap flying around

this requires restrained usage of disc though on high mp...

i plan to get higher crit chance and get rid of preparation alltogether so i have room for either a nuke or a crowd controller, which skills have the best synergy with nightstalker?

defenitely LS, you will be aiming for high dmg anyway to become effective... however you can do without if you manage your disc right and go near-perma shadowpower... i currently am speedfarming with no LS, 200 LOH (hardly notice i have it) because of disc management

Oh bro, get nightstalker and shadow power - you'll be able to spam shadow power which gives 15% LS (with gloom its also 35% reduced dmg)

You wont ever die with that setup, once you get used to it.

Having a lot of trouble soloing anything mp3 or above, can run halfway decently with friends, and reflect damage mobs destroy me. I know a need a bit of LoH but I don't think that is the sole contributor to my issue.

I feel like something's wrong in my build, or my gear, and have tried tweaking it but to no avail.

Your res is pretty low..
Get Perfectionist insted of tactical advance.
Get sentry with 15% damage reudction insted of caltrops.
That gives you 50% damage reduction when gloom activated, +15% LS.

This gives me enough to stay alive and have the discipline for shadow power all the time (ngiht stalker).. But yeah i have 5-600 res and 46.5cc

E: but yeah barbs are stronk as fuck.

This is a must bro, gives you more LS then you need (i dont take dmg vs reflects)
