If you whirlwind continously half of that duration is taking speed from dagger. And difference between 1.65 dagger and 1.2 spear is large, depending on ias from 5-6 ticks to 10. that is twice the hit rate, 2x more damage, 2x more fury and 2x more loh. And if you swing with a dagger last and just run, 100% of time it ticks 10/s with damage of main hand slow spear. It make tremendous difference.
Argument that he doesnt need more healing. Sure, but how about faster tick from weapons allows you to drop crappy 0 str amulet and get one with better stats? (because you no longer need loh from an amulet). It is all about choices, and his choices are questionable, this character could have been much better.
Also try using cain set for 30% more exp, and check if you still don't need more healing. If he ran all the way with cain set, invested into other gear pieces to maintain same farming speed, that 30% exp on top of his stats, gives roughly 12% more experience. That is well over 24 hours of grind saved, if you do most optimal route. And I can assure you that you can build a barb with cain set, that clears faster than spec from his profile, if you go for slightly different gear choices.
You should work on getting to a point, because I don't see any in this entire wall of text.
If it's about "Oh a dagger would be better than his spear" that's not even close to true, at his gear levels white mobs literally melt and elites are a joke, an extreme amount of extra nado ticks would be needed to be worth more than 190% crit and almost 300 strength ESPECIALLY at his gear level.
And the reason he doesn't use cain's set is because he's playing this game for money while he's in college, same reason he's got the "crappy" neck it gets him to max MF.

Then like 600LPS and 2.8LS to top it off. Rofl. I honestly doubt even THIS is his real gear, he could gear so much more offensively to be more effective. That much healing is stupid overkill, I breeze through a3 with only 800loh/600lps/0lpfs/0ls.
He's got low health in his new gear, that's why he's using so much life steal gear, and why he has amethysts in his IK armor.
