oh yeah blizz ain't sus at all. only deleting threads with reasonable explanations on their forums and banning anyone who calls them out on their shit:
good thing i saved a couple of my posts in notepad.

Not a coincidence. Blizzard is compromised

Is it really just a coincidence that there is all of a sudden a huge amount of reports to accounts being "hacked"? Due to so much of these reports occuring all at the same time suggests that it is unlikely anyone has actually been truly hacked. A much more plausible scenario is that Blizzard's system itself either got compromised or is exploited. Remember this is an isolated event that's happening ONLY to this game.

The other thing that annoys me each time I read peoples responses to this is the automatic ASSUMPTION that everyone who got compromised has poor security and got keylogged. Are these people seriously this naive? Take your get an authenticator bullshit and replace it with your head that's currently in your ass you ignorant idiots. This is clearly not a problem on the user's end judging from the magnitude of reports alone.

I'm not contesting the very real possibility a lot of less knowledgeable people got themselves keylogged. But to say that absolutely everyone reporting this from all sorts of different backgrounds and gaming communities that does not have an authenticator is a liar or an idiot who can't secure themselves properly, is incredibly naive. In your brainwashed little Auth bubble you really believe that not a single report of this is by a person who knows how to secure themself?

More so, even if your theory of hackers keylogging people months prior is true, do you understand the scale in which they would have to undertake to plan and accomplish what is happening all in such a short period of time, to random people keylogged randomly throughout the internet for this one exact purpose in this moment in time? But they leave everyones bank details alone? Define probability. Go get hit by a meteorite now. Get real.

I think a lot of this stuff has to deal with possibly people who have bought d2 items in the past or something.  I've joined 100's and 100's of public games with nothing wrong yet.

never once have i bought d2 items or paid irl money for game items..

big vouch to this wall of text.

completely agree and it needs to be fixed... Its bullshit that I can get hacked without being keylogged or anything. I know how they work and am not RATed or dl a keylogger or anything. If I did i wouldn't be as mad as I am about this. Its ridiculous the fact that I can get hacked because blizzard can't fix an obviously massive exploit or at least own upto it. They will probably ignore it and deal with the rollbacks and stuff for people. As soon as they fix it I bet they will make an announcement saying the problem is fixed, but they won't admit to it before it is fixed.

taking into account what i've posted. this all smells of bs conspiracy with their shitty authenticators. which btw if you actually depend on authenticator to prevent getting hacked you're already fucked regardless in all other areas of the internet and banking NOT just d3, rofl. but surprise surprise, no one is getting any other information about themselves compromised apart from within blizzards system

Can someone run 2 PC's side by side with an identical fresh install each, competely random passwords and join a bunch of public games until they run into enough dodgy level 1/2's to see if suddenly the non authenticator account gets compromised while the authenticator one remains fine?

Document the whole thing for proof. And if the non auth account gets compromised nobody could have any ground to say shit about any keylogger or phishing or any possible form of getting hacked apart from an exploit somewhere within Blizzard itself.

I agree, denial in not a river in Egypt it now flows through So CAL. I have NEVER used 3rd party programs or bought any thing for a game besides the hard copys in the store. I do not go to 3rd party sites beyond JSP and have totally different log in passwords for every thing. Yet I logged onto Bnet today and spent 20ish min looking through the AH .I decided to buy a few small items and not 20 seconds after I had completed the second transaction I was booted and Pass word changed. I was stripped on one of the chars before I could click the No I did not request this in the Email blizz spams out on a pass word change. Even though you can not see it all you info is passed around between the 2 accounts involved when you sell, buy,or bid on an item in the AH. IMO Blizz is aware of this security hole and has no idea how to fix it ATM .That is why we keep seeing the RMAH pushed back. At this point I will not use any version of the AH until they admit to and fix the security breach.

I should add the account that hacked me has been active all day. I reported it to a live support rep. and was told "Report the account for spam..If enough people report it we will look into it " WTF!!!!!!!!!!

....

The authenticator system is designed to prevent log-ins from predicatively different geographical locations then where you usually log in. Unless the 'hack' method somehow bypasses this point in the chain of events in log-ins, its not terrible advice to blame lack of use of authenticator... a blizzard moderator/csa stated that almost all people reporting 'hacking' didn't have this on.. so is a lie the public relations is telling?

Either way, what would be more productive, instead of polling users in this way, would be to ask what circumstances did the 'hack' occurr? Did you have an authenticator active? Do you regularly purchase from the AH? How often do you join public games? Did you recently add somebody you didn't know to your friends list? Once all of these assumed exploit routes have been ruled out, then worry about the server security being breached.. either way, "hide yo gps, hide yo rares, they be steeling errbody's shit up in hurr"...

I am still not quite convinced.

The obvious Blizzard post: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4309703662

They still claim no accounts with authenticators have been compromised, and until my authenticator protected account suffers such a fate, I will continue to believe so.

It is also extremely easy for a knowledgable person to create a realistic "clone" of a website, and people can enter their information without realizing it, believing that they are actually on a Blizzard website. This crap happens all of the time on WoW, and people always blame it on hackers.

Furthermore, I guarantee a lot of the massive influx of D3 players have not touched a Blizzard game in many years, and so are not aware of the literally hundreds of fake Blizzard clone sites. Even the slightest typo when typing in a Blizzard web address can take you to one of these, and you would hardly notice.

Until I see undeniable proof, these "hackers" are no more real than the "hackers" so many WoW players complain about.

Get an authenticator. Seriously. Do it. You can even get the app for free on any modern phone.
