thats not including the shit fucking ton load of money they made just a few months ago with the release of starcraft 2 (wich is i believe 70ish dollars for the retail copy)

and also not including server change, name change, race change, and all the other stupid 25$ features of WoW

and wait, dont expect d3 to be only like 30-40$, it will be like sc2, prolly 65-75ish

and ofcourse d3 will have expention and items to buy for real currency....

i wouldnt say blizzard NEEDS to make this game P2P seriously

i'm myself at college i have a shit load of stuff to spend my cash on b4 i can think about paying 200+ $ a year just to have the right to log into  a game that i previously paid 75$ for lol

Yes, they do have thousands of employees. All on Diablo 3? No, but when you figure all the games they have, support issues,employees, lawsuits, etc..... you might realize that just because there making money off WOW, doesnt mean they should make every other game free.

diablo 3 hasn't costed 360 million to be made, so it is profit.
no reason to charge for a game to hire employees to tweak it badly when they could just work on d4 or d3 expansions (not shitty expansions either)
