At the moment I have 2 weapons socketed with emeralds, can switch for amethyst if need be.
I can solo A2 with ease but die quite a fair deal in A3. Please advice.

I would second the recommendation for additional life on hit (and don't underestimate the value of life steal on high dps builds).

well, these are my current gears and stats(no follower/buff). i tried to boost my res and upgraded my bracer and pants. lost some life and dmg.
with the gold i have left, i do not know what next piece i can afford to upgrade, maybe the worse ring and the shield. I really hoped to get 950 res all without losing much life, but it does not seem that i am able to do that atm

Guy was almost dying to skeleton archer champs whose worst modifier is electrified... Would hardly call that as proof of being able to effectively farm act3.

ffs, watch any of his videos then. Watch any amount of streams on twitch.tv with low health monks doing quite well. Watch the video from the monk who posted himself with 211k dps and a FULL clear of A3 with 0 deaths and 30k health.

You do not need 50k health unless you're a mediocre player or your dps is complete shit (which means your gear is shit and then it must be called in to question why you are bothering in the first place if you aren't adequately geared).

There is a difference between 'effectively clearing' and 'roflstomping content'. You can most definitely effectively clear with a couple of deaths to harder packs while you skip them.

If your idea of failure is a death then your standards for minimum gear levels is extremely high.

id aim for 8k more like another 100 res and switch out a weapon emerald for a 300+ ammythist
