for the gold it takes to buy gear that lets u mf AND kill shit well, u might as well focus on the kill well and be super gg

if you feel that way, then by all means ignore mf!

250% MF and roflstomping A1 will typically result in faster acquisition of decent L63 items (yes, the drop chance for them is lower, but when they do drop they have a much higher rate of being a magic or rare item rather than grey/white).

In addition to this A1 has much more melee mobs through the entire act, which makes mopping them up much faster. This means you can find MF/GF gear and roll through and actually make really solid profits. With ~300%+ GF you can easily leave with 300-500k gold in a single clear of A1 (which is like ~30m) in addition to probably... 5 trips back to town with L61+ blues for 2k/essence and maybe... 4-5 of 10 items being rares too. It's quite profitable.

It's also really easy, so you can do it when you're really bored, really tired, or drunk. Doing A3 in that kind of gear just isn't going to happen without extreme focus and even then you'll probably be moving pretty damn slow.

ty, about MF i agree with Masta, even if i'm pretty much lower in gear/stats i would always prefer a super fast run with GG gears than slower with MF, especially while looking at the (anyway) crap loots

if you dont have mf on your gear, there is virtually no spot in the game that can be farmed fast enough to matter in a comparision to Warriors rest with max mf, worth considering when you are forgoing mf! Get aleast 100 mf from gear or go warriors rest with max (can be done with 5k dps)

Changing argument:
In the last 3-4 days i was testing the rune "Focused Mind" on Preparation and i found it to be really good if you, like me, have no Nats and base/close to base discipline...
It basically says u regen 45disc over 15sec (which means 3 disc/sec, +1 base regen, 4 disc/sec) it's like to have Nats 4th set pieces bonus for 15 sec, with a 30 sec break between each use of Preparation.
As i said, not bad at all if u dont have any +disc items, i'm actually preferring it to Backup Plans, it allows me to use 6 Shadow Powers/Smoke Screens consecutive

and have a slightly subpar dps with like 200+baseline mf is actually better than any pure dps build without mf, because not only it allows you to get more rares from elites when you have 5NV (without mf you prob get 1-2rare, with 200+base mf you would gain at least 3-4 or even 5rares from elite kills).
Aside from that, you also have great chance to get rare items from white monsters (typically 1-2rare from white monsters per run).
