Lol no.

You nn loh nor lifesteal

Gloom >

gloom is just a waste of skill slot if you got ll/loh and are not a strafer.

when it comes to loh, it depends on skills you are using, for example entangling with shock collar gives really nice life from loh because of FUCKING 1.5 proc rate and the ability to hit multiple monsters at the same time. ll is better with pretty much any other build, but high enough loh can be good enough if you arent dumb and just stand in group of monsters while they are hitting you

but what skill would you take instead of shadow power?

you lose so much dps taking life leach or loh just for an extra skill slot that isn't even that useful... its not worth it Shadow power>all

well that depends on the rest of the skills ofc, and you dont need to lose anything too important for loh and if you are going rare xbow, you can get ll on it again without losing much anything. you see d3 is a game where skills that you should be using depends on items you have and also items you should be using depends on the skills you have. if you can get leech somewhere else than gloom, then gloom is useless, if you cant get leech anywhere else, then gloom is good skill to use. personally i think the amount of loh you can easily get from amu+ring is enough if using shock collar + multi arrow, but this naturally requires you char not to have like 30k life so that you would need to be leeching all the time or get killed in a sec if you stop leeching.

with the build im using if i were to take gloom, i would have to get rid of bat companion, which would suck quite badly as i get just enough hatred regen with it(in combination with other regen) to not feel hatred starved. but luckily i got enough loh/ll that i dont need to use gloom, it would just be waste of disc which i rather use for moving faster.

you say "for dh" as if this game has any itemization variation between the classes.
NO.

you want IAS, cc, cd, main stat, LL

Thanks for the example on how thinking outside the box is done. Most users of this section clearly lack this skill ;)

OP: Congrats on your ring, since there's lots of builds being build on cc, it's viable for pretty much every class... if not especially for DHs in this case.

gloom is a rune not a skill...

if you don't need the Dmg reduction you can take night bane for the 3 hatred regen same effect as bat... but I always run with bat anyway.

Shadow power is too useful and u lose out on so much dps from taking life leach or loh on your weapon, Loh on gear is acceptable but even then your missing out on a huge Amount of ehp/dps. its not worth using ll or loh when you have a skill that can do that for you...

theres thinking out of the box and theres just not using something purely to be different... there is no actual benefit from not using shadow power
