Just geared up my Wiz as a CM wiz. I've been having so much fun lvling up so far.

What can I improve to make my archon a little more stronger? Weapon? Source? I eventually want to transform her into a dedicated archon wiz.

Oh, I have like 80mil to spend at the moment, but want to take it slow.

you won't be able to find an APoC, 8%+ crit high damage source for cheap.
Weapon you can replace for cheap.

What kind of weapon should I get? I want to change and kinda forget about it for quite awhile.

get something like your current weapon a base crit with socket 1k dps weapon. if you can afford one with int that'll be good. If you can't afford int on it try to get vita.

does bleed crit, and if it does, do those crits proc CM?

also, does bleed proc LoH or Life Leech?

Love this thread. I have bookmarked it and have been referring to it over the past few days as I try to max out my wizard.

I currently have 105k dps (unbuffed) and 220k EHP. I also have 15 APoC, which is combined through my off-hand (7) and my helm (8). I noticed you wrote that no APoC is required since you are virtually melting everything in sight in your situation. I find that often times my Archon will run out, espescially when I'm running through the start of arreat crater levels 1 and 2, and sometimes tower of the cursed.

My question is - How hard is it for you to refresh Archon with 0 APoC? And, do you find that without galvanizing ward passive you're constantly right-clicking archon to cancel to reapply your buffs?

I've had a lot of people ask me my stats in pms, i'll post it there and answer your 2 questions.


This first set up is what I run most of the time, with a radiant star ruby in the helm.
This is just the basic set up with prismatic armor up, im not in archon form.
146k dps, 6xx all res. In archon form with more survivability this runs fine to solo act 3.
For those wondering what the weird looking set gear is, it's cain's set. I can get another 30% more exp towards paragon levels from set bonus.


This is what my "normal" set up.
Much higher dps and all res. Just nuke everything as I move along.

To answer your first quest about refreshing archon with 0 apoc, with storm chases, I hit 1 storm 1 sign alternately and can get 6 twisters out without breaking and waiting for more AP. At 0.5 proc coefficient for storm chaser this will refresh my archon in 1 burst quite often (give that I have already stayed in archon for quite a while).

About manually cancelling archon because energy armor doesn't last long enough. Yes it can be annoying but mostly i just ignore it, even without armor up it doesn't affect my survivability too much. Very few things get to hit me, and even if they do I still have enough res/armor to survive.
