What are you talking about? That's more than some MMOs, and it's a ten year old game. There's almost no other games that age that have that kind of following. Unreal Tournament and Starcraft are just about the only games that can compete as in terms of longevity.

Why would it be impossible to add new content and acts? LOD is an expansion of the original D2, and they did a great job of adding the new act. They could easily do it again. Not saying that it's a good idea, but don't be so hasty to insult other people only because you don't agree with them.

you can easilly recreate the same game story line with a new name (diablo3)
who knows how they will do it exactly though

In what way would Diablo 3 not be the exact same fucking thing? It's okay to add acts as long as it's under a different title, but within the same game with the same planned story line it would ruin everything? That's like saying they should've made LOD the actual D3 because act 5 would fuck up the story line.

Harrogath is act 5, it has Story about Baal, Nihlathak and shit, Nihlathak connects to baal , and all other acts do, how are they going to make new acts when you slain the 3 evil brothers, apperantly diablo is still alive, but he was already beaten in diablo 2 and his soulstone was smashed , if they make a new act after the worldstone was destroyed by tyrael that would fuck up the entire storyline.

so their only choice was to make a sequel to diablo 2:lod.

if you dont understand what im saying to you, then go ask blizzard themselves.



This is like saying you should put duriel, andariel, and the council members in diablo 1.
They wont make any sense at all, no connection to the story at all, they would just be there for the lulz.

you cant add new evil lords to a 10 year old game that everyone beat already.
blizzard confirmed this themselves, they cant add new skills to diablo 2:lod , or new quests because it would fuck up the entire storyline, because it was released over 10 years ago.

if they even add one new quest to act 5, it would fuck it up, no doubt.
