I haven't been around since the start of LLD but when testing mechanics and abilities did anyone think that putting a cap of 50 on life regeneration helped WDs reach the top?

Since crit at this level is so low for everyone other than Barbs and DHs it's unlikely to get crit haunted so life regeneration from gear or abilities would seem to help balance them. I understand there are other things that make WDs powerful but haunt is definitely a big one with enough damage.

I know part, if not all, of the reason behind the cap was to prevent drawn out fights of running and hiding but I think it might be doing more bad than good. Then again I can see players with 300+life regeneration not being able to die without insane damage from the opponent.

However, I have not done any actual testing hence my asking. Clarification and criticism is highly appreciated as I thought it might be a good discussion if anyone cares enough to change rules/help balance LLD30 even more.

WD's have a beastly passive for regen, and if anyone would benefit from regen it would be a WD who can cc an opponent and kite away until full health again.

higher then 100 life regen makes endless duels.

I think this entire thing boils down to the fact that YEAH SURE! Most of the classes CAN beat a WD, but a duel where when 1 side wins they get that AHA! feeling, is still kinda lame. Which doctors have more utility than any other class, and sure like i said the other classes can beat them, but if your beating them on a regular basis u might wanna compare your stats, because im sure u probably have a bit better gear than them, or maybe your just better at playing the game than they are? this game actually has a slight skill cap at level 30 i mean, if u cant press your defensive buttons at the right time your not gunna win duels.

Having said that a barb or a DH with the right gear is just as bad against almost all the classes as well, i mean DH dont do to hot against WD, but against anything else they are awesome, and barbs do great against everything once u get tanky enuf to take a hit while still being able to deal some damage.

I know 1 thing tho, LLD gear is gettin more expensive recently, and i havent seen the quality i have seen in the past so im not quite sure why, lol.

Theres another scarbringer on the RMAH for 10 bucks with socket btw. Das 2 on NA now.

this isnt hld. you wont be able to sign a paycheck/spend 2 bil on a character to have something ready to duel

building a character takes time, and nowadays everything gets snatched from the ah 2 hours after theyre being posted. its not a matter of how much, but more a matter of how long.

iron i just had a cute idea (maybe someone had it before me though)

how about we take, say, the top 3 characters for each of the 5 class, and link their gears/spell choice and compile everything in one post. that way whenever theres a newcomer/you want to build a new character/youre looking to upgrade some of your pieces, you can look up any of those links to see what the best dh, or barb or wd or whatever has. and since those links wont ever change, the upgrades will always appear, its not a post we'll have to edit ever, unless someone suddenyl happens to build a superior character.

what do you guys say? we can look and fool around to see which players has the highest gears and compile everything.
