I suggest you run arcon wiz with that set of items. As a cm/ww melee wizard yours just wouldn't work at all. You need to reach AT LEAST 2,54 aps in bubble and you are missing ias everywhere. LoH is super effective for cm melee wizards. With just 407 LoH from pants and 2,85 aps I sometimes heal up to 10k hp in a second (considering there are more than 3 targets around). LS is an option if you got some insane 1,66 aps dagger with crit damage and a socket with LS but I've just seen such dagger once and it belongs to the best wizard in the world, so Chantodo's Will is the only real option here.

Again, I suggest you run Arcon Spec and solo farm with it unless you save up to build at least 2,54 aps cm/ww melee wizard.

Ack, I'll look into the Archon build and also the cost of ias gear. I can probably get inna pants + witching fairly easily. Thanks for the suggestions

you should start with chantodo's wand and ias on jewelry if you want to get anywhere.

Also, I've been told to get more attack speed, but I don't think it would help seeing as I'm having issues with arcane power ( unless AS affects the proc co on twister? ). Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

262%dps per second per target vs whith little monster trash, hitting al monsters onscrean, even offscrean

mebe she miss a tiny survival+dps+procing when compare it to a 100%perfect balanced wicked wind wizard (i not seen one yet!)
i not find a char build yet that does more spectacle then my 23 meteors per second create!

if you have the fastest chantodo wand, how much +ias do you need to reach 3 aps?

you can calculate it yourself...

3.00 (Desired aps)/1.79 (your weapon aps) = 1,68 = 68% ias from items needed

68/9 = 8 items with 9 ias
or
68/8 = 9 items with 9 ias

if you take slow time stretch time as skill it looks slightly different

1.79 chantodo * 0,1 (Skillbonus) = 0,179 ~0,18
1.79 + 0.18 = 1,97

3.00/1,97 = 1,52 =52% ias from items needed

52/9 = 6 items with 9 ias
52/8 = 7 items with 9 ias

My wizard aint that great to use CM with when the monsters have ref dmg :/

you can arcon with that set of items, just do mp1-2. Or you can get yourself weapon with physical damage, life leech, preferably crit damage and socket and cheap triumverate and farm mp4. But I suggest you just farm mp1-2 with arcon. That's all.
