The last time I checked this thread was not an epeen size calculator. This is supposed to be helpful discussion. Whining about what others are doing is not conducive.

As for me, I've now abandoned any type of shield concept and LOH. I'm doing something much different than I'm used to.

Spec:

Equip Goals:
200 LPSS (includes Transcendence)
200-250K Damage (includes high Crit Chance / Damage)
500 Resists All Baseline
5K Armor Baseline
80% Dodge
2.5% Life Leech (or more... damage and AoE should help this)

hmmm how well is the 80% dodge workin in pony land and against act4 stuff? and like for bosses, are you really dodging 80% of all attacks or is it where when your fighting a boss, the dodge % only works at a certain amount? (has anyone tested this boss wise and consistantly 80% dodging when spamin mantra ?)
i havent tried goin wit the dodge mantra yet cause im still tryin to up my physical res stack since im stackin physical res on my gear (stuck using the res buff with mantra of healing atm)

*shrug* while it's true that most of his posts is just worthless epeen waving, he makes a good point that a defensive, high DR+Block build with lots of LoH is likely the easiest one to play even if it isn't the most cost-efficient.

i had no trouble clearing act 4 pre-patch with a crappy shield (10% block total) and wasn't getting one-shot by anything by any means, but I can understand that having 50k hp, 1800 LoH, upwards of 30-40% block, and 20-30% MRR is pretty faceroll.

that said, it's pretty shitty advice to be giving to people on a budget. almost as bad as Tommyv telling people to buy gear with Spirit Regen/LPSS when they're clearly building a melee monk.

@buffjesus: 40-50m is a pretty large budget for a monk, especially considering when you actually completed your build. most people don't have the luxury of even a quarter of that kind of a budget.

my guy only has 900 res and i laugh at molten, but i have 1650 life on hit with 1.77 APS to heal off the damage


so get that much LOH or more res to increase the effectiveness of your loh

The funniest thing about buffjesus is how little he understands his audience. He doesn't even realize that people with a massive budget, like he has on his monk, DO NOT NEED ADVICE on how to build a monk that can easily clear the game. That's why he is so utterly useless in this thread. Who the fuck is his advice for anyway? Are there really people who have mega millions to spend, but can't clear the game? I don't get why he's even here...
