I think the value of skorn for high MP isn't for kiting but for getting more out of your mana. High dps from a mana dump spell like bears/acid cloud can be sustained much longer with slower attack speed than with fast attack speed. Nobody can take down ubers through 10 seconds of burst like you can with blues and yellows. WD has enough tank abilities that you should be able to stand and unload without kiting much.

So im considering making a full tank WD, how much Life regen \ res \ vit should i aim for, looking to do mp3 (i do mp1 nice, but its dangerous)

life regen is fine in small doses but doesn't scale very well with higher difficulty. Max you're going to get is like 3k or so, so 1.5k per tick. At the same time, mobs are going to spike hit you for much more. You're better off stacking LoH with acid cloud/rain of toads or LS with bears, then supplementing with various DR/escape/cc skills/passives.

With no shield I'd shoot for 500-600 AR, 30-35k hp, and pets. But really, unless you have DPS to back it up, tanking is kinda pointless.

e: and definitely don't gear around fierce loyalty. that passive is pointless. do more dps and heal pets with globes. pets are born to die - they only have to last for 45-60 seconds. making them immortal is pointless.

I actually considered fierce loyalty worth a shot at higher mp levels.
Problem is at high mp, elites and especially their dot abilities, can kill pets very fast. And without pets, youre forced to kite, especially some fast agressive elites. Also you can't stream bears freely against moving targets.
If only pets didnt die (at least for long enough to recast new ones), wd could take any elitepack up to mp10, because youre are just safe when dogs + garg are engaging elites. You can position yourself somewhere against wall and focus nice stream of bears that goes through entire elitepack. That works exceptionally well, when targets don't move (and when you don't have to move). Wd with bears, who has to kite, is losing so much dps.

I agree with your assessment but I think the answer is to play in groups where you can rely on another player to tank at high MP rather than your pets. If you have a good monk or cm wiz to lock down packs you can use skills like mass confuse/hex/bbv instead of pets and bad medicine instead of FL.

yes more time i play with cm wizy and baba... =) mp 6 no problem..i no use pets...mp 5+ = oneshotted

No problem with warcry and frozen enemies xD

Zunni boots and witch belt and you will skyrocket

I used a 850ish dps leech wep and it worked 3x as good as the wep im using now in mp4 -8 (using this for lower mp lvls to level up)

saving the bill i got saved until prices drop for a 60+k dps upgrade along with a life leech wep with 1k+ dmg
