So I battled the Hellfire bosses as a strict GI/GF/Bears WD last night and that was one of the poorer in-game decisions I've made. I wanted to lay out a different build, assuming certain parameters, and hope that it's safer and stronger than the de facto bears buld. Extrapolating from myself, I'm assuming that you have a Zuni set (so the boots give you poison damage on all attacks) and do not have lifesteal on your weapon.
Poison Dart / Spined Dart
Spirit Barrage / Phlebotomize
Spirit Walk / Jaunt (or Healing Journey)
Horrify / Frightening Aspect
Soul Harvest / Soul to Waste (or Vengeful Spirit)
BBV / Slam Dance
Spirit Vessel // Bad Medicine // Pierce the Veil or Blood Ritual
* These battles are all about single-target damage, so I'm believing it's better to rely on the long-range Spirit Barrage to spam from afar and act like artillery, and the Phlebotomize rune is your substirute for lifesteal. Similarly, Spined Dart is safer than Widowmakers and functions as the mana regenerator.
* I think Soul Harvest is the weakest spell of the six, but you'll get to cast it for 3+ vs. SK/Maghda and Ghom/Spin Blader. You really can't CC these immune, teleporting bosses. If MC/Paranoia worked I'd use this immediately but it was dead weight when I tried it.
* Spirit Vessel is about 4300% mandatory. Bad Medicine is similarly powerful provided you have Zuni Boots.
* The third passive is really up-in-the-air, Pierce the Veil feels the most appropriate and what I'd run today although it creates mana problems...Blood Ritual is the reverse by mitigating mana consumption and these are long fights.
