After some reading on monks I see that some people think 1000+ resistances is not needed... well now I'm a bit confused on which path I should take... Healing or Evasion?

Here is a screenshot of my stats. I would appreciate any input on my stats on where I can improve, and your opinion on which mantra I should go with.



I know that I need a better shield.. for better block / rate but do you think i should go with a stormshield(with my stack res or dex/vita as extra mod) or a rare monk specific shield?
Btw I'm using a helm of command.. my shield is only 15% chance to block.

Your stats look pretty legit. What exactly are you having problems with?

Ok, people are still using Monks, and apparently still profiting, so damnit, I'm doing something wrong.

Here are my stats.



Gear



Rings are just attack speed + 80ish loh.

I can't do act 1 and profit now (no, I don't die).

I just don't get it. How are people still making money?

I used breath of heaven with damage rune and it brings me to 21k damage... and then with sweeping wind.. i can do a3 solo but some mobs still give me trouble.

Well I can actually do act 3 solo except some mobs (mostly moltan + walls / illusionist) and bosses give me major trouble. I want to upgrade to a stormshield, but my shield now has 150+ dex and 150+ vita... I'm afraid to lose those stats so if I get an SS with either dex or vita, which should i sacrifice?

Also looking for any other advice as far as swapping / switching my stats around for a better balance to be able to solo the entire game.

Your dex/damage is pretty low, and resists could be higher.

Other than that, I'm curious what kind of farming people are doing since the patch as well.

I know it is, but I can't afford upgrades, and ofc my damage was nerfed.

So I want to know what I'm doing wrong? I just want to farm, earn gold, and eventually make an upgrade or two.

I can't though, since all I do is lose money now.

Can't get pass anywhere in act 3. Maybe clear some mobs at the beginning area but that's about it. I need more HP and 700+ resists and more LoH. Where should I focus on upgrading?

guys i'm new to the monk , can you explain why get all resist + another resist when you could just get 1 resist and use the passive ??

50 arcane + 50 all res = 100

50 arcane + 0 all res = 50

use enchantress with armor / atk speed buffs

i imagine you use the dodge mantra with armor.

so all you really need is a few k more damage and like 800-900 total res

also put a star amethyst in your helmet for +15% life
