Hello, can someone link/show me some popular wiz builds? I see cm build is the most popular one though I never really liked it. Also, what's with energy twister, how is that powerful? I noticed a lot of builds use it, but the damage doesn't seem too imposing.
I'm on a lookout for suggestions so if you have any, by all means, I'd appreciate if you'd drop one. Here's my wiz:
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kennoth-2298/hero/4114732With prismatic armor I have around 800 all resist. Maybe I've gone slightly overboard with it since it doesn't help that much. My main attack skill is arcane orb with tap the source, though since my new offhand doesn't have apoc, it sometimes takes a while for the ap to fill up. Power Hungry helps in that aspect a lot. Any ideas regarding gear/skill setup? I noticed The Witching Hour increases my dps by 10k on average, but I can't seem to afford even the cheapest one at this point. Also, how important is move speed for a wizard? I have only 12% with my boots, was looking for some Ice Climbers, but those with any extra ms on them are extremely pricey. I'm already bidding on some lacuni for extra as/ms. I'll sacrifice some life and resists, but what the hell. Anyway, thanks for any input.
energy twister (particularly wicked wind rune) is probably the best way to reduce your cooldowns. With critical mass, casting twisters that tick multiple times gives you a lot of chances for critical hits that reduce cooldown of spells. that's how the CM/WW build works. Your casting twisters that dont move (WW) and freezing monsters right on the twister so it keeps hitting them. Thus reducing the cooldown of your frost nova and explosive blast, so you can freeze again. The dps really comes from the explosive blast, not as much the twisters or frost nova.
As for your build I see a few flaws.
You have only one skill that does damage, arcane orb. I would get rid of slow time for something that does damage.
You have 0 arcane power on crit, yet you have a pretty decent crit chance. Your passives can be better used if you simply get a wand, helm, or source (or combo) with apoc.
You have 0 increased attack speed.
You have 0 life replenish (life steal, life on hit)
IMO the negatives outweigh the positives with glass cannon. WAY less survivability for a small increase in damage.
think about what skills/passives you are using, and how much they are really benefiting you in battle.
Movement speed is a more of a luxury for wizards, i think you have more important things to focus on. APOC, AS, LOH(or LS).
