My current solo tank build for act3+, all unbuffed. I currently have 600 life on hit with this build and 64k hp. Can clear everything, besides certain inv. mobs >.<

My high dps build is just a weapon swap, need a better wep overall for sure. Still all unbuffed. I have 51k hp with this build.

decided to post these before ias nerf ;(

nice stats.

i think ias nerv is not that big of a problem, unless you are running a 3.4aps monk atm!

2.16aps you have now

in patch ias will give like -55% less ias

2.16/1.4 = 54ias you have (optinal less, if some in weapon)
54-55%= 24ias left after nerv
1.4*1.24=1.74 aps after new patch

2.16-1.74*6spirit per combi sk = 2.52spirit/sec less then you used to have (non fist of thunder, or else it would be some more)
2.16/1.74-1*100% = 24%less damage, 24%less LoH

I'm new to thsi thread but have a monk as my main and really enjoy its playstyle (I've built more tanky)

With the new ASI changes do you think tanky builds are now the best way to go since the higher DPS builds are not even close to as powerful as they were before?

Also is anyone else pissed that DH quivers had no ASI changes.... clearly the problem is that DH's do to much DPS too easily IMHO DH's should use a 2 handed bow or a 1 handed bow and quiver ro 2x 1 handed bows...

Effective HP is all that matters really

60k hp low res low armor <<<< 30k hp 1000 res 10000 armor :)

stolen from reddit:

- check the grid for your armor/resist, and multiply your life with the number from grid. That's effective hp.

Also there is %dmg reduction and %dmg reduction from elites... not sure where it applies, first or last, and there is also block amount, again not sure when it applies.

Is this table right? Shouldn't monster lvl be a variable?

Yes it probably isn't accurate to a point, but it's mean to have a good view into how much hp/resist/armor is optimal if in doubt between those stats.

And can't find the reddit post now which had more info on that table :/

but it basically means, if monster hits for 100k, and we mitigate it by mark of 10, he hits for 10k life. So now we have effectively 10 times more life.

Just starting A2 and getting mullered as expected.

What shall I improve first? Thinking I need to get my block up big time and then sacrifice some dps for res?

You're resists are very low. It shouldn't be that hard to get them up to 600 or so. Your armor is also very low, so you're going to have to use Deadly Reach + Keen Eye rune to get the massive armor boost it gives. Also, Deadly reach is the best skill anyway, so you should be using that regardless. I'd also point out, your "Life on Hit" is non existent, but the fact is you probably don't have the budget to start thinking about LOH anyway just yet.

Get your resists and your armor up

Cheers, I'll look into it now. What sort of ballpark should I be looking at for armor?
