I don't think this is the intent. They just want to make IAS more on par with other stats. It will still be very strong and desirable, it just won't be worth a ridiculous amount. Just as armor and resists are equally important, so will be dexterity, IAS, and crit, for example.

I also read something about the base ias for monks and barbs being higher. This might be a really good nerf to glasscannons. If thats the case.

Well, I'm being very pessimistic, so I can understand you disagreeing.

I just think that people invested lots of gold or money in some really good items with high attack speed, just so they could balance out their other stats on different slots. Now, they won't be at the breakpoint they were, and will have to look at getting more attack speed, which may or may not come at a tradeoff. If thats the case, and some sacrifices are made, would that make the character less viable? Granted they're nerfing inferno, and that might make it viable, but I don't agree with nerfing inferno either. Inferno is a gear check first, and then it all comes down to spec / skill. If you don't have the gear, you don't progress. The problem is that gear progression between A1 and A2, in my opinion sucks, and you're almost always forced to pick up stuff off of the AH to "over gear" for the act you're having problems with. Then we come to the prices... I don't think that argument is relevant here...

We don't know. We won't know until it comes out. I'll reserve my judgment until then. But I do have concerns.

There are no "breakpoints". There are just people getting extremely high damage stacking an overpowered stat. You can forgo gear balance only because IAS is so much stronger than anything else.

tanking his fire circle + lightning at the same time.
waiting for the shadow clone phase cause its a free heal

i hold left click and kill him in 8-10 minutes

your shit build will die 10 times and kill him in 10+ minutes cause you have to dodge all his shit and stand next to health wells.

but keep trying to justify your a3 monk, its amusing

Wrong

Dat broken gear

I guess that's a video of the attempt where you had the most lucky dodges?

Just to be clear: Your build is cool and it's probably a lot of fun to do that much damage, but it's a niche build and not the most effective way to gear. You can keep posting your epeen all over these forums but unless you have extreme levels of gear going for ridiculous damage and dodge won't work, whereas gearing more defensively WILL work at lower gear levels.

If we want to get technical here you can't even really shoot glass out of a cannon.

The term is glass cannon not glass cannonball...the point is that it's a powerful weapon (e.g. a cannon) but it is fragile. A glass cannonball doesn't even make sense...

One single attempt actually. (which you might assume at the beginning of the video, and from the achievement<-- the first time I killed diablo, I just kited my shadow)
There is actually only one lucky dodge(dodging with low HP with Near Death Experience on cooldown) in the video, which was in the middle of the shadow phase. Once you get used to the build, its not as buttclentching as it looks.
I usually only do act 3 runs.

You never did post how much all that gear cost ya. I'm curious as I want to start improving the dps on my character now.
