Wow, this is ridiculous... Blizzard is gonna see lots of rage from every class... not to mention how much harder it is gonna be to survive with lack of LoH heals, the huge disparity of attack speed usefulness.
(70% reduction, means stacking ias becomes ALMOST pointless... in many cases the cost of said items will sky rocket so a typical player is even WORSE off in this crap economy.)
In my mind, this will make Melee classes even HARDER to play, making the disparity between ranged/melee classes that much more massive than it already is.
In their recent interview, they say changes are coming to help melee a little bit... if you read about them, its a giant joke of a "help". My monk was challenging but gear stacking helped me enjoy it still.
Now? I think ill start gearing my Wiz/DH to the gills... only about 10mil spent on my monk, but i may as well start selling him off... *shrug*
Heres what I think.
Its pointless to argue why they're doing it. My concern is the impact. RMAH buyers who got attack speed have their items changed. They have bought something with their actual money that is now being manipulated. Obviously there will be rage there. This looks like an attempt by Blizzard to ensure that the prices for items remain high by nerfing what's commonly being used so players will find something else to stack that appears to work.
Here's what I'm predicting. This could be wrong.
Blizzard nerfs attack speed, lets say 70%. People start abandoning it. What do they do? I think they will begin to stack crit chance and damage. The price on those items will go up substantially.
Next, Blizzard will find something else "wrong" here and start to nerf crit chance / damage. Something else will take its place, and prices stay high.
If that's the case, and that's their plan, I'm hanging it up. I will not pay more for an item that I would for a monthly subscription to a MMO where I can progress at my leisure without the developers gouging me for more money. Also - MMOs tend to reward you for various quests with... ITEMS that help you progress!
And yes, I said developers. The players who make the prices are a symptom, not a cause. The mechanics of the game are the cause, and ultimately, Blizzard in general.
