I would personally vote WDs keep hex, and i dont have a WD, i feel like a WD without hex isnt very strong. Others can weigh in on it but thats just how i feel, and they are 100% beatable with barbs, its just tough. With equal gear tho its not a bad duel.
I played Orvar's wd with any class I have and even when he was using fear instead of hex I could never win or equalize a ft5. The point is really, the WD requires little skill to play and with decent gear has a more than 60% to win vs any class.. It requires high skill and high gear on the opponent's char to win over a WD. That is not balance. Balance is when equally geared chars and equally skilled people duel and the outcome is always statistically 50/50.
Also there is a certain level of wealth/skill the players on EU currently have. Maybe you are able to beat wd's with your barb (maybe they are bad wd's or badly geared? or maybe your barb is unrealistically geared or u aren't a good representative of the average skill level on your realm?) but here on EU nobody can beat Orvar's wd. I would say that the fact no one has the skill or gear to currently beat him warrants this ban on hex. It simply proves the amount of skill/gear needed to beat the wd. All these things need to be taken into consideration when making a decision on banning a skill.. we shouldn't look it at it purely from a logical standpoint because else we can unban life regen passives and monk heals too as it is not 'impossible' to beat characters that use those skills either. The point is that they are unfair and they dictated the level of gear and skill other players need to have. Currently on EU it is resulting in Orvar almost never using his WD because 1: he has no challenge, 2: no one likes to duel it.
To sum it up:
-WD isn't unbeatable but requires an imbalanced level of skill and gear to beat consistently
-WD without hex is definitely still very viable and still the top class to play even if u are badly geared.
-We must keep LLD accessible to new people, provided they are dedicated like us. If a few rich LLD'rs own a WD that destroys all others just cuz of 1 skill people will not want to play the WD and the char/person gets hated for using it.
-The wealth and level of skill on a realm must be considered when deciding upon rules for LLD
-We want a balanced, fair and fun community where equal level of skill and equal level of gear means equal duels. Right now WD always has a higher chance of winning statistically vs most people's characters.
