I saw many many threads about people getting hacked with or without an authenticator and people keep thinking theres an exploit in public games and it's all blizzard's fault. It has been proven that you are the problem for not protecting your computer or using an easy password.

I'm pissed of all these threads so I make this READTHEFUCKINGMANUAL guide to keep yourself safe from hacker.

All you need to know:

1. KEEP YOUR COMPUTER PROTECTED

Anti-Virus ; Not a cracked paid one, get the free anti-virus instead and make sure it's always updated.
Suggestion: avast free edition

Anti-Spyware/Anti-Malware ; Most of them are free, and the general population don't even know they exist, but any IT computer knows they are more easy to get than viruses.
Suggestion: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Free) and/or Spybot Search & Destroy

Firewall ; You probably all have one installed already, but most infected people have it disabled and they dont even know what is happening. If you have the windows firewall, make sure you have only windows protocols or trusted softwares who is allowed to use the internet.
Suggestions: Windows Firewall or Zonealarm Free

Temp/Cache Cleaner ; Useful to save disk space and may clean some malicious files. You better take a scan of this before run the others to save time and infected files.
Suggestion: Ccleaner

2. USE A STRONG PASSWORD

password, invalid, 1234, 123, john, sun are good examples of passwords to AVOID. Use uppercase and normal letters, numbers and special characters. The strongest your password is, less chance youre password will be guessed. Don't need to mention to NEVER give your password to ANYONE. Also Blizzard will never ask you for your password, PERIOD.

3. USE THE BLIZZARD'S AUTHENTICATOR

It's free, proven secure and easy to use. Don't cry to blizzard when you get hacked without it. All you need is a smartphone, or a computer. You can also buy the physical one (6.50$). Just login to your battle.net account (www.battle.net) and all the informations are here.

4. DELETE YOUR D2 BOTS/TRIGS

I personally botted a lot last seasons (chant games to help people :P) and realized that NO BOT is completly safe. They know the account/password/character name you play with. Your computer may be at risk as well. If you play d2 only you are safe because they obliviously don't care of your d2 shits, but D3 is another story. Fact is maybe they keylog you and don't "hack" you because d2 is dead, but if they see you play D3, they already have all the informations they need.

I think thats it, if you follow closely these informations, there's no chance you get hacked. Also about the malwares/keyloggers/d2bots, If you are already infected, most of the anti-virus/anti-spyware listed above won't fix it, if you can perform a clean format it could REALLY help you.

GL AND ENJOY BEING PWNED IN INFERNO

who ever uses same acct name and pw for d2 when they botted are really fuckin stupid if that were the case that is.

Ofcourse the gesture of trying to help people out is always noble and deserves a thank.

However I have to agree with other people that you overestemate your knowledge, especially by claiming that having the best enchantress and running 4 bots would prove you're knowledge. I can understand why you would want to defend yourself if people are rude however you took the first step bying trying to be off help, no reason to then ruin it.

I hardly know anything about programming/hacking/security etc at all but I do know more then most people since most people don't put time in it and I did a little bit.putting up a bot net

So without beeing to much off a whiner only say negative stuff I now go to the, try and add to your post.

Beside what you recommend about removing the d2 naughty stuff, people have said that they reformatted and everything and still got hacked and there are many ways for that. For example most cracked programs beeing put out for free are in my opinion already a weakness, why would you put in the effort if your not atleast putting up a botnet(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botnet) right. So then there is already a connection to your computer under the radar (ofc not all 'hackers' play d3 but give it one that manages to reach a few k pc's and there is one explanation) and this would be in anything like the latest windows, microsoft office or whatever commonly used expensive program (gotta love open source).

Besides that looking at a more direct approach of hacking would be for example in this wifi time to just get on your router (which anyone without knowledge besides google can do, since it doesn't matter how good wpa2 is if you leave a 8 digit pin open) and start sniffing with one of the many free program, maybe you won't get the decrypted password but atleast the packages to log in someone account.

Now those are some easier ways of doing it as in, wihtout prior knowledge it would take more then, I don't know some hours up to weeks to get up to dat to get the knowledge. Then ofcourse the more you are familiar with programming especially the lower level languages, the easier it is to have no problems of getting your information without alarming scanners however there comes the point that as soon as the effort goes up the price has to go up and a game isn't as much worth as bank accounts for example.

Anyway, plenty of beer, plenty of bla bla. Point is, use common sense and instead of assuming it is better to check up on your information.
