I feel ya man i was so excited for the dexterity buff until i seen that shit... did some calculations on my gear / damage reduction and i found that dexteriy = armor will be a huge damage reduction boost, but unless something is changed our toughness will not be buffed even after we get perfect gear with all resist instead of stacking a single resist... Really hoping they change some numbers around during the PTR


Good news is that you get 30% of any secondary resist as all resist... so if you have rings/amulets/gloves with random secondary resists you will get some resists there

So 30% of any single resist counts toward all resist, not stacking one type? If it is that way it is still nice.

So theyre fixing dexterity and you don't expect them to alter OWE???

seriously, if they kept OWE the way that it is, monks wouldn't die.

they're not just changing this. the only reason they told us about OWE is so that people didn't get massive erections thinking about 20k armour and 1800 all res. there will be changes to everything damage wise, and it means that monks will go to just getting dex vit and AR on their gears again like before.

so now you have ~1000 AR before OWE and with OWE you get about 1300. and you still get close to 20k armor. I don't see the problem here.

what OWE will do now is it will fill the gap in resistances that barbs and paladonks can't with their passives. it's not uncommon for a character (other than monks) to be lower in one specific res than some of the others. OWE will help fill that gap.

you QQing idiots are going with the premise of the gear you're already using.

sure, you're going to have to re-gear some slots. it's going to be a million times easier to gear monks now that you don't have to stack a god damned secondary stat over primaries.

The nerf's not even that bad with the Dex to Armor Conversion:

Assuming 10,000 Dex, 5k Armor from Gear, and 25% from Paragon = 18,750 armor
30% damage reduction for being melee class

500 + 250 + 8 = 758 allres
160 *.3 * 5 = 240

Fire = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158
Cold = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158
Lightning = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158
Physical = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158
Arcane = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158
Poison = 758 + 160 + 240 = 1158

Total Mitigation after Armor & 30% Reduction for being melee: 97.444%

320 each res, poison res 160
320 * .3 = 96 | 160 x .3 = 48

Fire = 258 + 320 + 96*5 + 48 = 1106

Physical = 258 + 320 + 96*5 + 48 = 1106

It will be balanced with the armor change yes. But I have to fucking regear all my fucking monks because of it.
